Does anyone know if Ford Motorsports make a chip for the 2023 Corsair turbo engine?
Hi Kevbol. If by "Performance Chip Tuning" you are referring to a plug-in "chip", then the answer is no. That is because no reputable auto specialty parts manufacturer makes "Performance Tuning Chips" for modern vehicles. They are worthless.
On the other hand, you can look for companies that supply custom and/or canned tunes for hand held tuners. These tuners reprogram the PCM/TCM etc.. You use a hand held tuner, along with their loaded tunes, an OBDII USB cable and a laptop computer. More expensive than those snake oil "chips" from the 90's and 00's, but they can actually present results.
However, if you care about your warranty coverage, there are some things to keep in mind though: Using either may/will result in warranty claims issues if you have engine and/or transmission issues later.
Therefore, assuming your 2023 is still within the 4 year/50,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty and 6 year/70,000 mile Powertrain Warranty, you will want to think long and hard before performing this type of modification. Using them can result in denied warranty claims later, especially for major engine/transmission issues.
And yes, despite what the tuner/chip manufacturers may state in their advertising and marketing brochures, the auto manufacturer is well within their rights to deny warranty claims on vehicle with modified engine/transmission programming. In fact, they look for modifications when vehicles have issues/warranty claims. And they can find them easily, even when the "Chip" or tune has been removed.
I am not telling anyone not to modify their vehicle if they would like to, only making the possible warranty ramifications known, so owners can make informed decisions.
Let us know how you make out and good luck.
