Part Interchangeability?

I hear of difficulty finding some OEM electronic parts for models as late as 2010/11 and wonder how much interchangeability of parts exists with the Crown Vics and Mercurys and also the Lincoln MKS and or MKZ of that era? Maybe there are others? It seems for now, the aftermarket parts are available but we all know how the quality has dropped for those parts. I am in particular thinking about some of the modules and also blend door actuators. Anyone look into this in any depth (maybe out of necessity)?

Blend door actuators yes.
Modules not so much.

Modules are nearly custom made by Ford for individual application. Not only by module and by options on any given model.

If your 2010 Signature is a Town Car, as there was no Continental at that time, I'd expect any Panther platform car to be made of the same basic stuff, but on other platforms it'll be more likely be to Action's point.
