I own a 2005 Lincoln LS, recently it over heated on me. I since have replaced the thermostat and did the bleeding process, still overheating so I did it a second time. I then kept diagnosing and did a pressure test and it held where its supposed to. I decided to pull the radiator and I had it flow tested and it pasted. Then I decided to pull the water pump to make sure and everything is fine there and I've done all this and it still overheats, I'm at a loss of words and I don't know what to do! I've heard the dual coolant control valve may be the problem but how would I diagnose that?

It's the heater control valve also known as the dccv I'm having the same issue with mine. I have replaced the water pump, the tensioner pulley, radiator, all new plugs and coils, new gaskets, coolant flush and exchange twice bleed it a thousand times and pressure tested the system. I spent the entire night last night researching and I'm almost positive it's the dccv. I ordered it today on Ebay for less than 40 dollars and it will be here Thursday. So I will stay in touch. I just bought a 2001 ls v8 and I love the car as I'm a Lincoln guy but I have honestly just about lost patience with her dealing with this. The only other thing it could possibly be is the auxiliary water pump which is right below the a.c. drier. yeah it has 2 water pumps if you haven't learned that one yet lol. The auxiliary is electric and sits right to the passenger side of the radiator. If you get this feel free to respond and hopefully we get em worked out. She's pretty clean. Just needs a little love and care and I think she will be alright. A couple pictures of her and one of my other babies. Take care and good luck 20210709_231448.jpg20210709_231831.jpgFB_IMG_1627474584532.jpg
