My Lincoln
2024 Nautilus Reserve II Hybrid - Built 1/29/24 Delivered 7/3/24
Just had a new challenge today with the larger map in the upper dash display. The street names are all missing and only a limited number of street "lines" are displayed. I tried to opening all 3 different map apps on my iPhone (CarPlay active) and nothing changed on the upper, the center screen showed full mapping of current location with each app.

Then I tried opening Maps on the iPhone, from the center console and entered a destination. Once that route was started, then the upper display cleared and displayed the usual full map and routing information. This worked on Google maps too (on iPhone), didn't try Waze app.

The only difference is that the Premium Connectivity ended on 12/1, but this map display problem only showed up this afternoon.

Anyone else experiencing this new problem?

Vehicle: 24 Nauti RII Hybrid.

I know you can have Lincoln maps active (still will show after 12/1) on upper screen while having phone app maps on center. I believe this happens when yu start navigation with Lincoln and try to activiate phone maps. I believe you have end maps on Lincoln for phone to display on upper.

You are witnessing the side effects of your choice to not pay for the premium connectivity. The maps you’ve been seeing since Dec 1 are in the Google Maps download cache. But I have found that not all map features are in that cache in all locations. And I suspect that Google likely employs a timed expiration of the download cache. I took a 100 mile drive this morning and there were multiple times that the upper map display lost graphical map items including the roadway at a few points. I have determined that this will not work for me. I like having an accurate map up there full time and not just when I am navigating from my phone. When I get back from vacation, I will surrender and pay for the annual subscription.

So you do not want to use your phone navigation connected to LIncoln?

Before my premium connectivity expired on November 30 everything was working to my satisfaction. That includes the Lincoln Navigation, Android Auto, Voice commands to make phone calls and to send text messages. After the expiration the top map lost the traffic indications while the map on the center screen still showed them. This applied to both Lincoln and Android Auto navigation. When making phone calls or sending messages I was always asked to select which phone number to use. And then there was that nagging message on the home screen about the expired premium connectivity and the annoying emails.
I decided to renew using my points. One would think that would take care of everything. Even though the premium connectivity renewal reached the vehicle, a couple of days later things were actually worse than before the renewal. Sorry, but I can't remember all the details. It basically revolved around the vehicle connectivity being off. I went thru the menus several times trying to find some setting(s) that I may have missed but couldn't. I logged out of my Google account and after that I was unable to log back in. I kept seeing a "preparing" message which eventually changed to "something went wrong". After over an hour of hair pulling and swearing that I will never get another Lincoln I decided to create a new profile and, if successful, to delete my original Lincoln profile. Now I was able to log into my Google account. I went thru all the menus to make all the settings I previously had, the radio saved presets and so on. Everything was or seemed to be getting back to normal. The final thing to do was to assign Button 1 for the seat and steering wheel position to the new profile. Guess what... Button 1 was already assigned to the original profile and that could not be changed. I deleted the original profile and the button became available but I still could not change the new profile to use that button. Looks like a profile is linked to the next available button when the profile is created. That meant to delete the newly created profile and start over. That is done now and everything seems to be in place.
But why, Lincoln? Why can't it be as simple as restoring everything the way it was before the Premium Connectivity expired?

Other than no maps and some apps stopped working as expected, I did not have any side effect such as loss of profiles, etc.

That is the weird thing. After expiration mine was like yours. The problem with the profile (I guess it got corrupted) came after I renewed the premium connectivity.
