Hi from Australia. Just lifted front up to clean and do brakes complete rebuild
After hours of grime removal
I have decided to do front end suspension Aswell
Two questions
would be a time saver
1) The front calipers are there any tricks to removal as completely different to what ive done before
2) Ball joints are riveted. Factory i assume Any tricks there e.g. drilling over grinding No spares here
Thanks for any info guys. I have the DVD manual, but I'd like to get a paper book. Big book I'm thinking
Have a great day and happy crusin Cheers

The single piston floating caliper is mounted to an anchor plate. (The anchor plate is mounted to the spindle)
After lifting the vehicle and removing the tire/wheel assy, Remove the brake line
From the back side of the caliper removed the two bolts that mount the caliper to the anchor plate. And the two locating pins.
Slide caliper assembly off of the anchor plate and rotor.

Stock ball joints are riveted and were not designed to be replaced. You either replace the entire lower control arm which gets you a new bushing as well.
Or drill out the very hardened rivets. And replace the ball joint with grade 8 bolts.][lkjpij

Do you have a factory shop manual set? Would highly recommend.

eBay.
Comes in a 5 volume set. You don't really need the 5th volume.
All car models are in the set. All Ford, Lincoln and Mercury.
