- 2002 Town Car signature
My dad gave me his 2002 Town Car signature. Its always been garage kept. My mom stopped driving it because she could not get the driver's seat to move fwd. Its been sitting in their garage for about the past 8 years only driven about 100 miles every 3 months. My dad was driving it from Arizona to New mexico where I live. Sadly when he stopped in gallop he had a heart attack and died. So now I have the car. My mom says it has electrical issues. The drivers seat only moves fwd if you press the button and pull on the steering wheel but it will move back on its own when the key is removed. Mom says dont roll down the passenger or rear windows because they won't go back up. Drivers window works fine. Trunk won't open from the inside but opens, with the key. The major issue im having is the sun roof. Granddaughter opened it and now it won't close. I tried blowing the track with air and spraying white lithium grease. I tried holding the switch for 30 seconds and pulling on the sun roof. That didnt work either. I removed the access in the roof liner but I dont have the crank to manually close it. When I click the switch sometimes I can hear that the motor wants to engage and sometimes it does nothing. If I hit the switch to open it the glass moves a tiny bit back. So it seems to me its getting power. What is the problem and how do I fix it. Does it need a new switch? How can I manually close it without a crank? I dont think its the fuse but idk. Im lost without my dad. Please give detailed advice
Thanks
