Manual seems light for my ‘21 Aviator. What all have you done maintenance-wise in the first 5yr/50,000 miles? I intend on keeping this car for life.

Manual just states: regular oil changes, tire rotations, engine air filter and cabin air filter, along with changing the brake fluid @ 30,000 miles.

Maybe it’s because I am used to owning trucks but I expected more to do in between new and 50,000 miles.

On my 2019 RAM 1500 (first 50k miles/5 years) I’ve done:

-transfer case fluid service

-all drive line fluid service

-brake system fluid service

-flush and replace engine coolant

-change transmission fluid and filters

Hi tbh. As the Lincoln Maintenance Guide in our Owner Manuals states, there is not a lot of *required* preventative maintenance. However, doing what is recommended (and a few that may not be) sooner than recommend would not be a bad idea, especially if you plan on keeping your vehicle "for life". Your list covers it pretty well.

Therefore, good preventative maintenance would be to flush/fill the transmission fluid at some point between now and the not too distant future.
Change the PTU fluid between now and 50,000 miles. The sooner the better.
Flush/fill the coolant at the recommended interval or sooner.
Flush/fill the brake fluid at some point between now and the Maintenance Schedule recommendation (if applicable)
Change the trans and fuel filters (if applicable).

And be sure to use the proper specification fluids, as listed in your owners manual, when you perform this work. No "Universal"/"Good for all vehicles" etc. types of fluids.

Also, be sure to periodically clean and condition/treat the leather interior bits of your Aviator. This will help keep it soft and avoid wear and cracking later.

I certainly have overlooked something, so I am sure others will jump in to offer more advice and recommendations.

Coolant at 10 years and Trans at 150k miles.

Is the PTU another way to say transfer case fluid? What interval do you do? On my truck it’s every 60k miles but I did it at 30k.

Hi tbh. My wife and I drive pretty significantly less than the average annual mileage of most, as my ~5 1/2 year old MKZ only just broke 24,000 miles. And my 2007 MKZ only has ~112,000 miles. So my vehicle maintenance schedule and driving environment may not be a good comparison. However, the intervals I follow/will follow are pretty much what I described to you in my previous reply, but I'll try to be more specific/clarify:

I have/will flush and fill the transmission fluid somewhere between 50,000-75,000 (as I did with my 2007 MKZ), versus the 150,000 mile recommendation.
I will change the PTU fluid in my 2018 between 30,000 and 50,000 miles, versus the "Lifetime" recommendation. The sooner the better if you are towing etc. I don't tow. My 2007 is FWD only.
I have/will flush and fill the coolant at the Lincoln recommended time/mileage interval or sooner.
I have/will flush and fill the brake fluid at some point between now and my Maintenance Schedule recommendation.
I will change the fuel filter at ~30,000 miles in my 2018, as per the Maintenance Schedule. My 2007 has an in-tank/"lifetime" fuel filter.
Both my vehicles have "lifetime" transmission fluid filters. They are not changeable without cracking open the transmission, and are cleaned with a proper flush/fill.

Those intervals are good for me, but may not be good for everyone, since the Lincoln recommendations can vary according to vehicle, model year, engine, transmission, driving environment/cycles etc. So I am sure others will have more advice and recommendations.
