I had a 2020 Platinum and the recent update went off flawlessly. Now, I have a 2021 Corsair and it refuses to recognize any of my USB sticks. I've formatted exFAT or FAT on several different thumb drives. I followed all of the instructions and each time the vehicle rejects the USB format. Anyone else with the problem? I did discover that accomplishing the complete process on a windows machine solved the problem.
I tried the process on two different MacBook Pros and a new intel Mac. All machines are running Monterey.

Hi Steve. I use a PC for SYNC 3 updates. However, I have heard the same complaint on this and other Lincoln/Ford Forums that I frequent, about Mac usage for SYNC 3 updates. More than a few times.

Recommending downloading and installing the updates on the USB drive via PC as you did will often (but not always) seem to solve the problem.

On the other hand, I have also heard that most Mac users have no problem.

I have no idea why though some have issues though.

Good luck.

I have had no issues in the past on a intel and M1 Mac with EXFat and a San disk stick. I updated mine not to long ago following the instructions on the lincoln owners website

Now I'm really perplexed. I've spent days on this, following every instruction on the website, and even wasted an hour with the Ford online tech to no avail. I have not used a San Disk specifically but It's worth a try.

Same here. I updated my 2018 MKZ on Sync 3 and had no issues using my 27 inch iMac. I also did an update recently for a friend's 2019 Ford Escape running Sync 3, and like my Lincolns everything went swimmingly.

Hi Steve. Are you using a USB 3.0? I had issues previously on my Mac using a USB 2.0. Maybe that is teh problem because I have no issues with the 3.0.

How are you formatting your drive exactly? Disk Utility/Erase, and reformat as EXFat? USB 2.0 vs 3.0 didn't matter for me, but capacity did. Had to use a stick with at least 8 GB of free space.

Hum, really strange that my update worked from the windows machine and not from any of my apple devices. Have you tried to update your Nautilus?

Disregard. I misunderstood. You are saying the files simply will not download to your USB from the Mac?

Ya, 3.1, and I think one of them is 3.2. I also tried some older sticks. The only one the car will recognize is the 3.1 stick I formatted on the windows machine.

No, the Nautilus uses Sync 4 which does automatic updates over the air. No more manual updates for me! ;)

Okay. I know I have done updates where I copied and pasted the files from my Mac to the USB and others that I dragged them. You may try both methods and see if that is the issue.

Yes, 3.1 stick,Utility/Erase, and reformat as EXFat. Then unzipped using Unarchiver. then the unarchived folder,
5U5T-14G381-ET is copied to the stick. Then the folder is opened (I've tried this both ways) to reveal:
Autoinstall
Dontindx
and the folder SyncMyRide
Start the engine and insert the stick.IMG_0404.webp

My Corsair is supposed to do the same thing but I haven't been able to get close enough to wifi to try it.

Wait a tick...does the '21 have Sync 4?

No, everything works until I plug the usb into the car, then it spits up

Over The Air updates with Sync 4 is different than wifi updates with Sync 3. tgara has Sync 4.

This is perplexing. Have you tried updating Sync to fix this?

Joking...sorry.

I just checked the Order Guide. It has Sync 3.
