Hi All,

2008 Navigator and we are new to Lincoln/Ford et al. Is there some sequence to test the gages etc? Our former SUV (Durango) you could hold the trip button down and turn to on, then after a few seconds release the trip button. The gauges would all sequence through. Handy to check if it is the gauge cluster or the sender units.

Again the Dodge you could turn the key off-on, three times and it would cycle through any outstanding error codes. They would be displayed in the trip-meter line of digits and end with "done."

I have scoured the manual but may be looking for an incorrect term.

Thanks

maybe one of these will work for you? I attached the dealer instructions for this as well. I do not know if either applies to your specific vehicle.

  1. To enter the instrument cluster self diagnostic mode with the engine off, depress and hold the trip/odometer reset button.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position and hold until test appears in the display area (within five to eight seconds).
  3. Once the test appears release the trip/odometer reset button within three seconds.
  4. Depress the trip/odometer reset button once to advance to each stage of the self-test.
  5. Turn the ignition to the OFF position to exit the instrument cluster Self-Diagnostic Mode. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, proceed to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics.
