I found this part in the area of the door jamb circled. Does anyone know where it goes? I've looked in the jamb and under the hood and can't see where it goes.Lincoln 1.webpLincoln 2.webpLincoln 4.webpLincoln 3.webpLincoln 5.webp

that should go thru the hinge bolt….. might make more sense if you see attached pic
was your door removed off the vehicle at any point?

used to see those in fords, haven’t walked out to look at the lincoln- but you should get an idea of where it should be looking at the pic attached.

Thanks for the information. I will check it tomorrow. I don't think the door has been removed but my dad had this vehicle before me.

I haven't had a chance to look at it yet but out of curiosity, what does that part do? The door seems to open and close fine.
Thanks

I think it helps ‘keep/hold’ the door in the open position so the door doesn’t close on you if you’re parked uphill/ or the wind…etc

Thanks for the reply. I tried to check it today but I'm going to have to use a mirror or my borscope to see it.

If I were to guess, I'd see it as a travel stop for the door swing (not sure by the pics where this normally resides). I would recommend go to the door on the opposite side of the car - open it to full travel and see how far it goes and what it feels like at the end of travel (I'm guessing there's normally a rubber bushing in the joint to stop travel). If the opposite door appears to travel a little less, and is a softer feel when it reaches end of travel - that may affirm my guess.
