2004 Town Car Sinature series, 4.6 ltr. Door ajar warning on dash, intermittent, does while driving or parked. Sometimes it won't di it for days, then starts again. Replaced door ajar switch on driver's door, no change. Tightened and lube all areas of all latches, no change. I've read another thread about ddm module replacement, the guy did that 3 times, still an issue. I'm considering replacing it, I'm a diy person at home, no forscan, whatever that is to check it, I have a scanner that plugs in computer, can read codes and reset /erase fault codes. Just installed a new battery, 2021 batt died this morning. AAA replaced, alternator/starter, good. I'm at a loss, I don't know how, where to look to check connectors, pins, wires, because I'm not a mechanic with all data, online tech service subscriptions, etc...I used to drag race an old 67 stang in the 80s, rebuilt /repair/hot rod shit/paint/weld, even worked on jet engine components at Kelly AFB. Where the F can I get hands on information, detailed instructions. Are there tech manuals anymore? Sure is nice having something on actual paper to refer to different sections while working on a car ! Helppppp!

The driver’s door switch is the likely candidate, but it’s always possible it could be a different one. Follow the steps in the attachment. If that doesn’t work, replace the other switches. Get back to us with your findings!

Attached Actrin scan tool, it cannot read door ajar codes, tell me which door it is or if it's the DDM module. Lubricated the hell out of all latches, up,down sideways inside out for the fourth time, no dice. How can I diagnose it to know which door ajar switch is the problem? It's intermittent , opening and shutting every door separately does me no good on diagnosing the problem, it doesn't tell me which is problem, again I replaced driver door, door ajar switch because it is the most highly used one. Problem persists, lubricated all to the nth degree, latches ,posts, hinges, etc. Doors ,posts, aligned correctly, latching correctly and square to body/aligned/sealing surfaces, hinges are good, nothing is loose. Door latches screws/fasteners checked, good, tight. WHAT TOOL SCANNER DIAGNOSES DOOR AJAR SWITCHES...PLEASE!!!! WHAT IS NAME OF THE SCANNER? WHERE CAN I GET ONE?!
