Any recommendations on brand name replacement for 03 Cartier L? Thanks for input.

I replaced my Strut/Spring with the Motorcraft from Rockauto, and I'm very happy with the smooth driving, highly recommended.

(2003 Cartier)

Thanks. Man, those things are expensive. $160 each???

I see sets of two from $154 to $204 on Ebay, Would I be sorry if I purchased these instead of OEM"s for $160 each? Have 96,000 miles on the Cartier L.

Scroll about three-quarters down. And Rock Auto is the cheapest?????

Agreed. My question: Are the Motocrafts so much better that the cost for each is as much as a set of other brands?

Motorcraft warranties most of their parts for 2 years unless noted in the disclaimer on the box.
You'll get better quality with OEM parts than aftermarket

Not always, but it has been my experience that when I need a part online, I find what I need through R/A and it's the cheapest price
I bargain shop everything, read warranties, and do a lot of review reading before purchasing anything

Thanks for the advice/info. I've purchased many items from R/A. i agree that they usually have the best prices. I've also purchased about 1600 items from ebay over the last 15 years. Just wondered if I might be satisfied with the cheaper cost items. Thanks very much for all the patience and advice. It is greatly appreciated.

RockAuto is almost always the cheapest, sometimes not when you factor in shipping. I buy 80% of my auto parts from there and I usually price shop around.

I don't know what the options are but I would strongly recommend Motorcraft only if available. I put Monroe SensaTrac QuickStruts on my 96 T-Bird and the car rode like crap, I regretted spending the money on them. If Motorcraft is available, that's all I'd buy in the future.

Ok. I'm sold on Motorcraft. I'll update when I install them. I'm trying to do some of the maintenance that I've never done on these cars before. I have a 2000 Cartier L and a 2003 Cartier L identical in color. Never been back to the dealer since purchasing brand new. Only item I have replaced is the blower resistor on the 2000 about two weeks ago. I mean other than batteries, fan belts and disc brakes. Never even replaced an alternator on either.

Rock Auto always has a 5% discount code laying around so always be sure to use it. (y)

Ebay is a crapshoot of counterfeit parts. Go with Rock Auto.

I second the Motorcraft. Just do it and not worry about it again. You bought a luxury car that is 20 times cheaper to repair than a Mercedes.

So I just replaced my Struts all around and the air bags. I went with KYB Struts/Shocks and Arnott heavy duty air bags. I've used KYB for years and never had any issues with them. I'm happy with the ride quality as well.
