EATC units interchangeble?

Hello fellas,

Almost all my EATC buttons are gone on my 93' Town Car and i found a new unit online from a 93 limo parts car. but it has a different layout of buttons.

Does anyone know if this is interchangeble? got some pictures over here:

This is the one i got in my own car.

This is the one from the parts car.

Ofcourse i would like to get a 1:1 swap, But since parts are very scarce here in the Netherlands, this is my only option for now.

The "other" display is very close.
If it were me, I would buy it.

With the worse case scenario of moving the buttons from the purchased unit to the existing unit.
This assumes the purchased unit does not work the same.

The answer to the question in the title is usually no. Those units are typically not interchangeable. That does not mean they won't work. But there may be some feature or installation method that doesn't exactly fit.

My daughter bought a used $3000 2009 Focus with a message center and had a Blue Tooth connection.
That piece did not work. She bought a used unit for a Fusion. It works, however the message center refers to the car as a Fusion. Plus the wiring harness is too short so the display does not fully mount up. But it gets her the Blue Tooth connection and that is all she cares about.

Thank you for your advice. Next weekend i'm going to pick it up from the seller. After that i'll let you know if it works!

Everything works! except some of the lightbulbs.. Where can i get those?

I recall this question and answer from many years ago on a Mark VIII forum. After some searching...

The Ford part number should be F5VF-13B765A.

Back when Radio Shack was a thing, you could get Radio Shack Micro Bulbs #7219.

With the advent of LED lighting, more recent modifications utilized T4 Neo-Wedge LED bulbs.
