I'm struggling with dashcam installation.
Do I need to take off A-pillar to hide wire or I can just tuck the wire in A-pillar?

You should be able to left a bit of the A-Pillar and push the wire in and work your way down, without having to remove the pillar. I haven't tired that. I installed the Ring Car Cam and with that one I ran the wire up front below the windshield to the bottom. Which dash cam did you get?

I got Vantrue X4S Duo

Looks like a nice dashcam but the ratings aren't particularly high.

I have the Vantrue unit and it plugs into the OBD port under the dash. Very neat installation.

All right guys, I am thinking about installing a dashcam as well. How difficult will it be to wire the rear cam especially there are side air bags on those pillars. Not sure if its a good idea to mess around with those covers.

I felt the same was about inadvertently setting off an airbag so I got a unit that records both forward and inside the cabin. The camera facing the cabin shows straight out the rear window and both side windows. Not quite as good as a rear camera but it will show if I'm stopped and rear ended.

A front facing camera will also show by the image and the speed superimposed on the image that you were stopped when struck from behind--it just can't display an image. It will also log the incident in a saved portion of the history that won't be overridden.

I gave up trying to install the rear camera on my dash cam. I tried to tuck the cable into the rear pillars, but it is very tight and I didn't want any airbag issues as well....

Same as I did mine.... But, for the rear camera on the back window, I ran the second cable the same as for the front camera, but continue along the top. That is where I started to tuck the cable into the rear pillars where the airbags are located. It was very tight and I didn't want any airbag issues...
