I have read that too much heat will kill the AX4N transmissions and that additional transmission coolers have been known to extend there life. My 2000 Lincoln Continental had "transmission service" at 24k miles. I assume that was a fluid change, I wasn't there. I intend to change the fluid/filter out now at 66k miles again. But was wondering if anyone had any experience with additional cooling for the Continental transmissions (specifically). The car already has a transmission cooler built into the radiator like normal, but also has an additional transmission/power steering fluid cooler mounted lower in the grill. I wonder if fans on this small radiator could make a difference? Just wanted to hear peoples thoughts.
