climate controls 24 Nautilus Hybrid

Very discouraged with the ventilation system in my Nautilus. My irritating issue is the electromechanical vents. Every time I turn the vehicle on, I have to deal with the touchscreen in order to set the vents to "Motion" for the driver and passenger. I would think the setting should remain until I choose to change it again. Am I doing something wrong that I am required to activate the motion vents every single time I turn the car on?
