My Lincoln
2023 Lincoln Navigator Black Label L
So, just seeing if I am the only one that has bought a lemon Black label or not?
I purchased this in 12/23, and it is my dream vehicle, and I finally pulled the trigger for all the bells and whistles. So, after having the car and bout 1000-2000 miles on it the radio started turning itself all the way up and off randomly, only way to fix it was to pull over and shut the car off and back on, was told it was a software update and it would be good to go. With next oil change at the Lincoln dealership, they said make an appt and it will have to stay there, and they could try and flash the computer or update it or they would replace the module. After about a week they told me that they we successful in updating it and if it happened again it would need to have the module replaced and that part could take a week or more to get. I picked up my vehicle it was working amazing, back to the dream car I wanted. Until 2.5 weeks ago when I was on a family vacation out of state driving it and the whole computer screen went black. With that being said I live in Louisiana and it's the F-ing summer and hot as balls, I lock my kids control because my three-year-old liked to play with it. The only way to work the air in the back is to have the screen and you can work the temp from there, but it won't unlock, and I can't change it because it's not synced to the front controls. We take it to a dealership in the area we are at thinking it needs a new module and to flash it and get it working, nope they tell me that there is no fix until the end of third quarter this year. Ok so I think they don't want to fix it because I'm out of state, so I call my local dealership and make an appt for the day after we get back. I dropped my car off on Monday 8/5, I was told to call Lincoln customer service and to escalate the call due to this being the 2 or third time I have had this same issue with the car. I received an email stating that the car can't be fixed due to it being a software issue that Lincoln is aware of and that they would like me to pick up my vehicle, I refused, I asked if they could guarantee that my vehicle is safe and that no more software issue will happen if I place my children in this car, and what about the air? All customer service has told me is that it will be fixed before 12/24 hopefully, they should have something, but they don't know if it will fix the vehicle. I asked if it's safe and the man said that the dealership wouldn't release it if it wasn't. I asked can I get a written guarantee that it won't affect any of the other computer issues in the car and they told me no. I asked to have this moved up to his supervisor and then this am at 10:20 I got a call from a random number not with Lincoln who is saying they are a supervisor and that there is no call back number and can't call the number back because it goes to a full random mailbox with a different name on the mailbox then who called me. Any thoughts or ideas on what I should do next

Hi jjduck2112 and welcome to the Lincoln Forums. Sorry to hear about your issues.

I can’t offer much advice on the vehicle issues, other than to state it sounds as though the Service Department is dealing with you honestly so far.

Your options are relatively limited to the usual:
- First, they seem to be dealing honestly. So allow them time to fix what they can, and/or obtain software updates when they become available.
-Next, check your purchase contract to see what warranties are written in, and if you can have the selling Dealership take the vehicle back (unlikely considering the 12/23 purchase date.
- Next, research the Lemon Laws in your state to see if your vehicle purchase and the ensuing problems and time out if service will qualify for a Lemon Law buyback.

Also…have you asked for and/or did your Dealership offer you a Lincoln Complementary loaner vehicle? If not, you should do so. You can also call Lincoln Concierge and inquire as to whether they can assist. Either with facilitating the fixes you need, and/or some type of compensation for the trouble.

Keep us updated and good luck.

There are no loaner cars available, per both the dealership and the Lincoln services, they are just telling me to take the car back and drive it until the update becomes available, which they are hoping before the end of 4th quarter this year, this doesn't mean it will fix it they are hoping and can't guarantee the car is safe to drive and no other systems will be affected, yes it does fall under then lemon law I think but have to speak to a lawyer and its harder than you think. Also, with the A/c not working properly without the screen to know the temp I don't feel safe put my children in there. still waiting on the supervisor to call me back again today.
