Bought a 2011 without remote start..Want to add it..is it worth it to get an OEM remote start of 3rd party?

I had the dealership install the OEM bi-directional system in mine a few weeks after I took delivery.

Does that use an extra key fob? Also does the oem remote start turn on the air automatically?

Air conditioner, or heat, would start automatically, especially if you have it set for 'Auto'. Unfortunately, the seat heaters, or AC seats, will not, like my old Jeep that had a toggle that could be left on; they have to be turned on each time you start by hand.

I do not have the remote start--never felt the need enough to spend well over $400 plus install.

Yes, mine requires an extra fob, because my MKT is a 2012, and our main fobs do not have a remote start button on them like the newer models.
Yes, AC or heat will come on at your last setting if you have auto selected. Seat heaters/coolers do not.

When you say the seat heating and cooling do not come on I'm assuming you are referring to the added and not factory installed OEM remote start. Mine do come on as they also did in my 2011 Explorer.

Correct, added FOMOCO remote start after sale.
