Hi, I am in some desperate need of help. I purchased a 98' Navigator a few weeks back, the guy said it was all fine. Whatever, I drove it from Florida to Texas, and had a misfire, I couldn't FIX it until I was in Texas, so the check engine light started blinking, (Catalytic converter?). After I replaced a coil, the car still was shaking. So when I got BACK to Florida, I went to AutoZone and had them run a scan. It said Transmission Slip, either dirty or low trans fluid, or failed trans... I looked up signs of a bad transmission, and my car's OD light doesn't flash. It doesn't make sounds in neutral, but it does make a very VERY quiet creaking sound when shifting into park and drive. It shakes literally almost all the time. When I get to about 70 MPH, it finally stops. I checked the fluid, and it's full, but I don't know if it's dirty or not...
Don't know if this is related, but when I press the gas and get to about 2500 RPM, the A/C will literally stop working and BLAST through the defogger until I let off the gas. It also doesn't work when I have the car in accessory mode.. it will just blast through the defogger... I seriously need some advice, I can't afford a new transmission right now. 20 years old, unemployment, school, etc etc.
