My Lincoln
1971 Lincoln Continental Mark iii
Finally convinced my grandpa to sell me his 1971 Lincoln mark iii. The car has been parked in his garage since I was a child and I was always infatuated with the car. The story is he bought it in 2001. He had it painted and the bumper recromed and drove it into the garage in 2002 and it’s been sitting there ever since. I want to get the car back on the road but have not the slightest clue how to get a car running after sitting for 20 years. Can anyone send some tips or point me in the right direction? Also posted a pic of the car as well.9500F0C4-E187-47D7-8C33-2D9F6056939A.webp

Lots of videos on you tube. Many things to check, go over, replace. Start with the basics. Get it started and running. Then go through the brakes, suspension, electrical, etc. One step at a time. Others will come along and offer advice. Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to seeing the progress.

Welcome to the Lincoln Forum!

The battery may be the first issue. And to help you we will need help from you.
Before you begin to operate it, check all fluid levels. For the C6 automatic transmission, do not pay attention to the level, just does it have fluid?
To move it all fluid levels need to be in the normal range and tires need to be aired up.

What is your level of ability to work on the vehicle?
Will you do work or is wrok going to be hired out?

Then
How many miles on it?
Does the starter crank?
How far from that garage are you traveling to bring home?
