I think Ford should just have an annual recall month for all cars since 2010. Match the month to the model year modulo 10 + 1 to make it easy to remember: 2000, 2010, 2020 are all in January, 2021 in Feb, etc. You could assign day of month similarly to spread it out, and Nov and Dec are "recall free" each year. Other distributions possible. Maybe make 2011 Jan for easier recall (pun intended) by the public.

Bring your car in, have some coffeecake while we check your VIN. And $1000 if you buy a new Ford and $1500 if you by a new Lincoln during one of your FoMoCo vehicles' scheduled recall months! Think of the publicity.

If nothing else, think of the postage it could save for Ford! Have you seen the price of first class stamps lately? I think post office inflation has outpaced new car msrp inflation.

The problem is that recalls are issued due to safety issues. The must be addressed ASAP providing parts, if required, are available.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the rear brake jounce hose may rupture and leak brake fluid.

The hazards: a brake fluid leak can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

I think that covers pretty much 99% of vehicles on the road? Seems the threshold for recalls has sunk to a new low.

My MKX is affected. If I remember correctly, there was a recall for front brake hoses. I checked my maintenance records, but didn’t find anything.
