• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1998 Town Car" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1998 Town Car" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Just traded my 2004 Honda motorcycle for a 1995 Town Car Signature, in really great shape. I never rode it anymore and was looking at town car ads and saw this one and at the bottom of ad he said he'd trade for a motorcycle, so the rest is history. I think the guy was nuts, but who am I to say no to a town car! It's white with green interior, chrome rockers, very clean and everything works, I was surprised. I had a pair of 89's back when I was younger, both white and never had an opportunity to own a 2nd gen, but I liked their looks. Anyway might have some questions about things, but I plan to read through the forum topics and I'm sure everything I might ask has been. I was going to attach a photo but the only insert image link wants a url, so that might be my first question, how do you attach a photo that's on a local drive,

Glad to see there's a Lincoln enthusiasts group, looking forward to being here.

Hi thanks for the reply. I tried this and after clicking go advanced, there is nowhere that has the word manage or attachments anywhere. There is no box you can click. Down toward the bottom the only clickable things I see are automatically parse links, disable smiles in text, then under subscriptions there's a box that says subscribe to this thread, check that then you have a drop down with options to select. And under that is rate this thread, with a dropdown. So, I assume I'm unable to do it. The only thing that has anything to do with inserting images, asks for a url and that's up with the formatting icons. I tried this 20 times to make sure I wasn't missing anything anywhere. Also looked around in the profile areas, there's one area that has miscellaneous and attachments, you click on attachments and it simply says you have no attachments, yep, and was hoping there would be somewhere you could then add them to upload. I'm either missing something obvious or the feature is now gone, or it is for me.

Thanks!
Joe

Would love to be able to upload images if anyone knows what's going on.

Hi Joe,

Between the Miscellaneous and Subscription areas is the Attachments area that seems to be missing for you. In that area is the "Manage Attachments" box that when clicked takes you to the dialogue box for attaching pics and docs. Perhaps you don't have enough posts. Sal, the owner and administrator, has some problems with scammers who take advantage of the site for their purposes so there are many restrictions to first time users. I will find out the number of posts required to post attachments. So go ahead and post some questions in the Town Car forum while we get some help for you.

Good luck.

Hi Joe,

Sal tells me there is a number of posts required before attachments are allowed for new members. The number cannot be released. So hang in there for a while yet.

Good luck.

Welcome aboard, Joe! Thank you for signing up. For the time being you could upload your photo to a free hosting service and then link to it from there. Let me know if you need help...
