If someone does not subscribe to the Lincoln Premium Connectivity after it expires, does FM (over the air) stop working? The tuner interface is google auto services.

I don't think that anyone knows which apps will and won't work without the Lincoln Connectivity service activated. I think we're all waiting for the first first anniversary.

It is the only service that uses an real receiver but interface is viable app. I do listen to FM at times.

Hi angore. No, it does not stop working.

Good luck.

Where is that documented?

Where is that documented?

Hi angore. Documentation to prove what won’t happen? No. Or at least highly unlikely enough that I am not going to spend time Googling/looking for it.

However, there is documentation of what constitutes Lincoln Connectivity Services and would stop.
That list is readily available if you wish to look.

However, I promise you that FM/AM radio reception, the ability to play USB loaded music etc. do not stop if/when an owner does not continue to subscribe to Lincoln Connectivity services.

I’ll make this deal with you: If you can find official documentation stating that FM service stops if Lincoln Connectivity services are dropped, I will take the time to research and come up with documentation it does not. 😉

In the meantime, you will need to take my word for it. Or not. 😉🤓

Good luck. 🍻

A non-snarky response . . . I don't believe there is documentation of what constitutes Lincoln Connectivity Services. Could you help with that?

Hi hinckley. Thank you for the non-snarky response. 🤗

There is publicly available information. From Lincoln/Ford.
Today is a beautiful day though, and I am washing/detailing my cars! ☀️🤗

This information is not hard to find. So if you can’t find it by Googling ”Lincoln Connectivity Services” and other similar phrases, and/or no one else jumps in to help, I will try to reply back tonight.

However, it is a fact that FM/AM availability is not dependent on a Lincoln Connectivity subscription.

Good luck! 🍻

I have posted the services before but vague enough to not be sure disposition and assume some aspects will continue but no one here knows for sure. I think it all should be free since it mostly covers what a connected phone does today..maps, media, etc. It is good to know where statements background comes from.

Go to Lincoln website and log into your account. Select DASHBOARD. Scroll down to CONNECTED SERVICES on the right and click MANAGE.

Select LINCOLN PREMIUM CONNECTIVITY and scroll down to select MANAGE.

From what I have been able to surmise, AM & FM radio will continue to work no matter if you opt to continue your subscription or not. As it was explained by my dealer when I accepted delivery, you will lose premium features of Google Maps such as traffic rerouting. Navigation will still work but you won't be rerouted around road construction back ups, accidents, etc. You will lose streaming such as podcasts as well as access to the Google Play for your vehicle as well as the in-dash games. You will lose access to audio books from the built-in vehicle apps along with Spotify.

At the bottom of the link below there is a link to contact Lincoln to ask questions regarding the service.

This will also show the date each of your trial subscriptions expire.

Hi angora. Some of us here know for sure that FM/AM reception will continue. The radios are not a premium connectivity service and will not be bricked.

And the official answers are available by going to the Lincoln Owners website, as Red Honcho stated and linked to. And/or by performing a quick Google search or two.

Or probably even better for doubters…call Lincoln Concierge and ask them for a formal/official answer.

I’m enjoying the beautiful, sunny day and showing my cars a lot of TLC. ☀️🤗

Good luck. 🍻

In prior posts I have posted everything that was posted above in more detail as I have saved screen shots.

Then I guess I am failing to see your point. Click on the link and contact Lincoln since you have further questions.

Hi angore. I'm not sure anything posted by the rest of us average schmoes will convince you, so as I added above, it would probably be best for you to lay your fears and worries to rest by calling Lincoln Concierge.

Good luck. 🍻

While there are some apps like Tune-in that provide select radio stations from select cities, I do not know of any service that provides all the FM stations across the country via streaming. Also, it would have to use your location to limit the radio stations to your locale, and migrate available radio stations as you travel. I don't believe this is the case. We have a radio, an HD (digital capable) radio, but an FM radio.

Similarly, I would think the Nautilus had a SiriusXM radio. I do not see an Android Automotive app for SXM. The service is contracted direct through Sirius, and does not list connectivity services as required to operate. Plus, during our long trips we never lost signal, even though Internet coverage was spotty and had gaps. I believe we have an SXM radio.

The tuner interface is not Google Automotive Services. You're confusing two different products. The infotainment system is Android Automotive. That product is the core operating system (Android) that runs the infotainment system. The FM tuner is an Android app that runs on Android Automotive. Google Automotive Services is the suite of Google-provided apps including having access to the official Play Store. Carmakers can implement Android Automotive with or without Google Automotive Services.

I agree it will depend on what apps will remain supported if the connectivity service is not continued.

Before they had Sirius and Google there was fm and am. Free services. I would believe that Lincoln could not stop those services. I would also think there has to be some FCC regulations to have them for disaster or emergency notifications. Every car we have ever owned have had fm and am.
