2025 Aviator front plate placement

Yeah that middle flat panel definitely has the collision avoidance sensors behind it so you can't mount there. I'd be curious to see pics of that side mount too if anyone actually got it working.

Here's my plate placement on my '26. Attached to the lower grill using only the top two screws. I cut the lower two nubs off the plate holder to keep the bottom from sticking out even more. I drilled small holes (1/8 ish) for the self-tapping attachment screwsFront Plate.webp

Thanks, I just tried a similar thing using this:

I'll let you all know if it works out alright. I paid $100. Not cheap.

Why not just throw the plate in the windshield? When I was living in Nebraska alot of people were doing that. Its still visible (theyd tuck the plate in between the dash and windshield so it would stay pressed against the glass and not rattle and be clearly visible) so it shouldnt be illegal and can be removed at any time without leaving holes in the vehicle should you move to a place that doesnt require the front plate.

My wife's car. Not a chance, lol.

I believe that in most cases it would be considered to be illegal, especially where the law requires it to be firmly attached to the exterior of the vehicle.

Did that platypus mount work out? I'm looking at the same for my new aviator. Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum. 👋
Although I agree that the original spot does ruin the lok of the grille, I think mounting it anywhere except the designated spot is going to make it look like an add-on and out of place.

I've had it mounted for just a few days. No issues yet. I do not have the plate yet, so it's not on the bracket. When I do install it, I will likely use some lock-tight on the bracket threads. I also had to add a few more washers to the bolts as there were not enough threads for the application.

Awesome! Thanks for the pics. I think I'll go a head and order one. At least I can throw the plate on if I have to go to/park in the city.

Sadly, it looks like an add-on in either location.

But much better lower and off center. Nice work.
In my opinion, that's exactly what makes it look like an afterthought. ;)

I think Lincoln's placement was an afterthought🤔 Ruins the front grill. YMMV😎

Lincoln's placement can't be considered an afterthought strictly by the definition of the word, since they manufactured the grille area so as to accommodate the plate.
I realize what you're saying and respect your opinion. I would have also preferred a better place for it.

I ended up getting an Amazon version and mounted the bracket in the same place. The Amazon one has a spacer that pushed the plate out away from the grill/bumper. It has the same space access to quickly remove the plate for carwash etc leaving the bracket in place. Basically a copy of the craven speed with a spacer. Thanks again for the help.
