- Protect catalytic converter from theft- - - Protect tampering of oil plug
- Protect area from objects and snow going up in there
- Comes with bolts and mounting hardware
- Oil change bay built into shield so it does not have to be taken down to change oil

ESSENTIAL to prevent converter theft when parking outside!

Just installed it myself. Its not hard to install but a pain in the ass. Why did I get this?

#1. Catalytic converter theft
#2. Protection from anything on the road that could bounce in there.
#3. Protect from vandalism and tampering

It fits. For your application you need to remove the side arms which are the support for the flexible shield that came with the 2024. On the front two holes of the shield there is also some removable hardware brackets where you use as the bolt for the shield...those need to be removed.

The kit comes with 6 bolts and 6 brackets. 4 of the brackets use existing frame holes.

Its best to hand it over to a mechanic to figure out.

The toughest part for me was getting all the adhesive foam someone stuck to the shield so it wouldnt get damaged in shipping. The next toughest part was which way the brackets go in. Basically there is a built in nut on the brackets. The bolt goes in and the nut should be on the far side...not near side. Next the reason why its good to hand to a mechanic is its a pain doing it without a helper and without a lift.

Just added this to my Navigator, mostly just because it was a freebie through Ford Pass. One could go the inexpensive route and just buy the main plate for around $150 and leave off the drain plug access panel. The only extra’s you would need are two more speed nuts and their matching bolts since the rear set gets re-used as do the smaller forward bolts.

Install was straightforward and no instructions are needed. You do need to remove the small forward speed nuts and transfer them to the plate, since the front lip actually sits above the existing bracket. With the OE felt shield, its front lip goes below that bracket, but not hard to see the need for the change.

Nice piece overall, and in Timberline fashion, may be worth adding the fuel tank protection and the slightly larger plate below the oil pan.

A comparison pic for reference (red marks show where the smaller speed nuts go, if not already obvious).
