My first impressions of the 2023 Corsair Grand Touring (GT). What are your first impressions? Did I get anything wrong on my impressions?

Note: I currently have a 2016 MKC with less than 45,000 miles... I'm not in desperate need of a new vehicle. In April, I ordered a basic trim level 2022 GT. My 2022 GT was built this past Friday (09/09/2022), and will be delivered by the end of the month. I'm considering refusing delivery on the 2022 and ordering a 2023... with an anticipated delivery in January (or later) of 2023.

The base price of the 2023 GT is about the same as the 2022 GT, but a lot of features on the basic trim level are no longer there. They have Collection I (base level), Collection II ($2,940 extra), and Collection III ($8,005 extra). The 2023 GT has even fewer à la carte options than the 2022 GT.
  • The heated sideview mirrors with turn signal, illuminated "Welcome" mat, and power-foldaway memory setting are no longer on the base GT.
  • The standard heated first-row seats are no longer on the base GT, but they're now heated and ventilated and come with heated steering wheel (whether you want that or not).
  • Fog lights are no longer an option on ANY trim level.
  • The 2023 color options are greatly diminished. Black and Silver are the only colors that are no extra charge. The other colors aren't that special, but the Corsair appears to have more choices than the Aviator.
  • All trims come with some variation of Co-Pilot360 which means that all Corsairs now have a front camera (in addition to the rear camera).
If I decide to order the 2023 GT, I'll probably have to get the Collection II trim level (to get my basic minimum needs but with a lot of features I didn't really want). I'll also have to order a special exterior paint color. Altogether, my 2023 GT will cost about $5,000 more than my 2022 GT... but of course, it will be a newer model, it will have Sync4, it will have a wireless phone charger in a better location, and it will have more gee-whiz gadgets.

I'll probably go ahead and order the 2023 GT with the Collection II trim level. The Collection III comes with those 24-position seats — that would be a definite deal-breaker for me.

I am very impressed with the vehicle given my great disappointment with my '22 GT.

Sync 4 and the larger infotainment screen were the two big things I wanted.

I love the red interior. I love the phone charger being in the front cubby. Appreciate the better ambient lighting (it was pretty dull on the older models). I like the inclusion of Active Glide.

I am at the point I want this car so much that I am willing to trade in my vehicle now at 5,000 miles to get a "wash" on the pricing of 2023.

The problem is, that I will be without a vehicle for 5-6 months with the expectation of February '23 delivery. I do have access to a junk car that I could use for the time being. The "hardship" would probably be worth the reward.

I will go with the GT model, Collection III with 24-way seats and this time out, the 19" wheels instead of 20"

So, pretty much loaded

Glad to see the newer tech being added, but the exterior styling...

I hate that front end, it looks too much like a Hyundai/KIA.

Where's the bumper?

Can't wait for the first time you get too close; make contact and the grill takes a hit.

There was an increase. Of course there is more tech for that extra money too. https://fordauthority.com/2022/09/2023-lincoln-corsair-pricing-increased-across-the-board/

I'm happy to have my 2022 GT. I'm not a fan of the new grill and lack of fog lights. I like fog lights on my cars. I noticed that the Mustang Mach-e does not have fog lights either which was an issue for me. I'll keep my 22 a good 4-5 years and then move to full EV mode.

@Arteest , The only thing I see in your summary that I am not sure I am tracking is the inclusion of the perfect position (24 position) seats in Collection III. I see them as a $1285 add-on to Collection III (and only offered at that level). If there is something you want in Collection III, I wouldn't dismiss it, quite yet.

My wife really wants the rear heated seats so painfully that pushes us into Collection III. She is replacing an XC60 with that feature, the HUD, and Volvo's version of the auto-pilot. Ironically, I like the other features and would miss them if we didn't do Collection III, but this is primarily her car.

So, what is your heartburn with the perfect position seats? Am I missing something? We are leaning towards getting them because my wife is 5'1", has back issues and often feels like seats don't give her enough adjustment. Having never sat in these, I am not sure if it is worth the money for a "maybe it will be better". Any input would be welcome.

My wife has back issues too and the only seats that give her comfort and those that allow the thigh extensions on the driver & passenger seats for added support. We currently have the 22 way seats on our MKX and she's in heaven. The only Mfgr's we've found that offer that feature on BOTH seats are Lincoln, Mercedes, BMW and a few Audi's.

Hi @ljnelson109

Thanks for the clarification about the 24-position seats. Previously, they were available on all trim levels (similar to the 20 inch wheels, for example)... now they're an option only if you get the Collection III trim level.

Some of my friends have the 24-position seats and HATE them. They said the seats are too hard and there's not enough padding with all the extra hardware and machinery that operate the seats, lumps and padding shifts appear unpredictably when the thigh extensions retract, etc. On the other hand, some people seem to love the 24-position seats. Go figure.

For perspective, don't forget that my initial order for the 2022 GT was for the base model with the no extra charge Elite Blue Metallic paint. The only option I had was the $200 floor mats.

As previously noted, the base level 2023 GT stripped away a lot of features that were previously included in the base level 2022 GT (e.g., heated seats [gone], mirrors heated/autofold/memory with turn-signal and Welcome Mat [gone], etc.) — as a result, I have to get the Collection II ($2,940) just to restore some of the basics that were previously included. With Collection II, however, I also have to accept things I didn't particularly want (e.g., the foot-wagging liftgate, ventilated seats, rain-sensing wipers, wiper de-icer, heated steering wheel, etc.).

THEN for yet another $5,065, Collection III adds heated rear seats (we rarely have anyone in the back seat), a few more speakers, the heads up display, some more tech, and an air-freshening system. For that much extra cost, I first assumed the $1,285 24-position seats were included in Collection III... but no. LOL.

Of course, everyone's lifestyles are different — so I guess it's nice to have different options.

Still, I do wish there were more à la carte options. Oh well...
