Hey everyone. New here and my wife and I are looking at a couple Aviators. What type of pricing can I expect on these? I did the KBB thing but I understand the algorithms behind that aren't always accurate. Local dealer has one that we both like advertised for $65.5k which is exactly $4,500 below sticker. Is this the going rate for these or should I be able to negotiate a better deal?

Thanks.

Sean

$4-5K off MSRP is I think a pretty good deal for the vehicle. You can haggle forever but at some point on a $60K+ vehicle you just have to go for it.

Oh I agree. I just got 10k off my Audi RS5 last year which is not a high volume car like this. Nor is it a "money maker" like SUVs and trucks are.

E-mails to dealers within 50 to 100 miles listing the exact specifications for the car you want. Ask for the out the door price. Upon receipt of responses give all but the lowest one more chance to respond without telling the lowest price. That's how we bought our Aviator and the dealer had it trailered from a store NJ to here in the Washington DC area.

I would suggest you wait for Sync 4 which may or may not be available later this year on the 2021 Aviator. It's available on the 2021 Nautilus. Check out the videos on YouTube, I think it would be worth the wait.

This is a good point. Worst case, the dealer wants to move the 2021 in favor of the 2021.5 (sync 4) models. I'll do some hw on sync 4. My Boss 302 didn't even have sync and honestly I didn't care. But family vehicle...

Sean, there are a lot of websites and YouTube vids that offer negotiation tactics. You should get the dealer discount first, and then add any applicable offers from Lincoln, your opener of $4500 off is ambiguous and probably misleading, I'd bet that includes the offers from Lincoln. Many dealers will use that number as a way of reducing their discount.

Ask to see the invoice, and look for "HB", which is extra cash from Ford. Then find out what the doc/"Conveyance"/"Office" fees are, those are pure profit and typcially allow them to sell the car at or near absolute cost and still make out OK.

The last thing I'd recommend is that you give serious thought to your actual tech needs. Waiting for the newest version of Synch or any other tech is a fool's errand bc tech is always advancing..and not always for the best. Just bc it's new doesn't guranteee better. I gave serious thought to waiting for the '21 Corsair, but now that I see how they've decontented it, I am glad I bought the '20.

Agree with this. I used Edmunds pricing. Bought my Nav for $900 below Invoice, and then they threw in the all weather floor mats.
