I am coming off a 3 year lease of a 2019 MKC with 19,000 miles. I am wondering if I should upgrade to a 2022 Corsair or buy the MKC. Is there much of a difference between the two? The mechanical specifications seem almost identical. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. P.S.: I have MKC Reserve model.

Depends on the specs you're looking at. Engine wise, they are relatively similar. But the Corsair is on a new platform shared with the new Escape and Bronco Sport, and the MKC and previous generation Escape were on an earlier platform. Also, 6 speed transmission in the MKC versus now 8 speed in the Corsair.

There's also a planned update in 2023, which some websites are reporting SYNC 4 being added, and possibly ActiveGlide.

I did a quick MKC vs Corsair on the internet and the specifications were nearly the same. The Corsair is an inch or two longer and wider. And as you said the engines are almost exactly the same. My questions for you is the new platform on the Corsair an the 8 speed transmission is it a game changer? We all like something new but if there is no real advantage to me for upgrading then might as well keep the MKC especially with low mileages and one more year of warranty remaining. Please send me your thoughts/recommendations. Thank you.

A close friend of mine has an 18 MKC. It feels much tighter inside them my Corsair.. The backseat area is much smaller as far as leg room is concerned. I don't think it's as quiet as the Corsair is.. those are my observations. For what it's worth, I seriously looked at the MKC... would not have bought one. I bought a 19 Acura RDX instead. But I eagerly bought the 21 Corsair... Twice. The first one was totaled after 7 months so I bought another one, a 22. Very happy with it.

I've owned only a 2020 Corsair (so far), but based on photos of the interior of the MKC, I definitely prefer the layout of the controls in the Corsair. That's of course, personal preference, though. You're no-doubt comfortable with those in the MKC, and the change might be more disruptive, for example, than keeping the current vehicle.

My Corsair met a similar fate as JB in AZ's, but I too liked it enough to order another. Now waiting for either delivery, or notification of delay due to parts shortages, whichever comes first. Meanwhile I'm happy enough with a 2010 Edge Limited that I bought to wait out delivery of the replacement Corsair.

I had the MKZ. It has the same interior of the MKC for the most part. Upgrade!!! The MKC used will still be less than the Corsair new or used, but used might make a better deal now that a 2020 is two years old. I'd be open.

See my comments under Corsair likes and dislikes.

I had a 2019 MkC that came off lease. Leased a 2022 Corsair. Should have bought the 2019 off lease as the shortage of vehicles caused me to have positive equity in the 2919.

Don’t like some of the features of the ‘22 especially the engine start-stop feature and the removal of the foot operated lift gate as a standard item.

I just purchased a 2022 Corsair Reserve and traded in the 2017 MKC - I have no regrets (even though there is a question about how the ambient lighting bulbs are setup in the dash). It's an absolutely beautiful vehicle, absolutely solid, classy. Added a CD player via the USB port and it works great, the steering wheel controls that too. Turning off the engine start/stop is a minor inconvenience but I have to do that in my 2020 Nautilus also, I wish there was one button to do that like the 2020 Nautilus instead of pressing the button and then pressing the button in the infotainment screen (it's one more step EVERY run cycle).

You bought another Corsair, JB? I thought that you got a Highlander instead...maybe I missed something.

Yes, we actually bought both! LOL. Bought the Highlander in Dec (before I was thinking 100% after the accident) There were some things (I didn't notice during test drive) that my ultra picky self didn't like the way Toyota implemented, so my wife decided to drive the Highlander, and we traded in her CR-V for the 22 Corsair! They gave us almost the same amount for the 2 year old CR-V that we paid for it against MSRP for the Corsair (minus $1,000 in Lincoln Rewards pts).

The Highlander is comfortable, gets phenomenal mileage, but is too big, etc. I REALLY like the Corsair.

I like the idea of adding CD player. Can you give more details? What type of player. Where does it sit. What is needed to connect it.

Here's the link to one I bought and works in the Corsair and is sold directly by Amazon (not a 3rd party seller on Amazon). I sat it on top of the bottom storage area (with the lid open) and used Velcro to secure it. It comes with a USB cable and extender cable (not needed). The unit appears as "Audio" in the audio devices and takes about 10-15 seconds to read the CD. The steering wheel and standard player controls in the infotainment screen work using this:

I returned my leased MKC for a Corsair. The Corsair is better looking and a little roomier in the back. That's where it ends. I've regretted not buying out my MKC since I made the trade. With only 19k miles on your C, there's no real reason to trade in my mind unless the 2022 Corsairs have substantially improved over the 2020's.

I got mine off Amazon or eBay (do a search on eBay for Lincoln Corsair CD player). It fits very nicely in the glove box and I routed the USB cable behind the glovebox and routed it into the hidden box where the USB ports are located. Works great and sounds great. Now, it might be easier to have your CDs converted to MP3 files on a USB chip (as I have done). I do have some CDs I had recently found and decided to add the CD player as another audio option.

Our 2022 Corsair is, so far, problem free. That said, I wish we had kept our 2019 MkC as it only had 13,000 miles on it when we turned it in. Some fancier technology and 2 more inches of backseat room isn’t worth it.
