I had my instrument cluster replaced at a Lincoln dealer in the spring and they didn’t transfer over the miles to the replacement cluster. I had brought in a used one for them to swap and only asked if it was possible for them to use it. I am not a mechanic and didn’t know they wouldn’t be able to roll the mileage forward on the cluster.
This is being used as a reason to void my tws warranty that had unlimited miles. The mileage in and mileage out are documented. So it’s a simple math problem, but I am having to take them to arbitration over refusing to cover an engine replacement when the maintenance was done at correct intervals despite the discrepancy.
Is there anywhere else on the car that tracks the mileage? Lincoln told me the odometer will over ride the PCM (which doesn’t sound right as that would encourage odometer fraud) and the body control module.
I am happy to pay someone to pull the information, they are saying it can’t be done. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am paying $33,000 to pay off the car next week and it isnt drivable at the moment. And they want $21,000 for the repair.
