Anyone with a 2018 Reserve (Or I guess 2016-2018) where when you let off the gas it seems like there is a noise that I think is transmission related and when you push the gas back down it makes the same noise? Almost a sound as if something is catching as you ease off the gas and then when you ease back into it?
Its a new noise that popped up. Mine has 16,000 miles on it, just bought it 3 weeks ago.
Hi C7. Trying to accurately diagnose noises over the Internet is difficult at best. There are simply too many variables and questions to be asked, and it would still be a wild guess for anyone to accurately blind Internet diagnose it.
For example, it could be a transmission issue, a loose heat shield, a loose under-body shield etc. etc. Does the noise seem to occur as you go through any particular speed when accelerating and/or decelerating, or does it occur at completely random speeds? If it occurs at the same speeds, it may very likely be a loose heat shield. But that is simply a blind Internet guess.
Your Lincoln is still within the 6 year/70,000 mile Powertrain Warranty, so your best course of action (in my opinion) would be to set up a service appointment with the Service Department at your local Lincoln Dealership and have them properly diagnose this issue.
In the meantime, I would also recommend checking the transmission fluid level and topping off as necessary (if your vehicle has a dipstick). And while doing that, check the fluid for proper color, any burnt odor etc.
I am sure others will jump in with more advice and recommendations.
Keep us updated and good luck.
