Here I go:
I was getting around 43 mpg with my girl. I had the front tires replaced in August. When I left their lot, the engine just started going "RRRRRRRRR" and had little power. This went on for about 2-3 seconds. Ever since then, the engine has run rough when it engaged. I did have fluids changed (oil/coolant, but not the hybrid coolant) right after this occured. I also changed the plugs and ignition coil packs. Didn't do much. Now, my mpg has hovered around 40 and keeps going lower. I've changed the 12v battery and did resets to it. I've done the BCM reset, left it overnight, disconnected overnight, all of those things. One thing about the battery disconnect is, the radio stations, et al, have not changed. Still have the programmed stations in there and my usb hd disc picks up where it left off. Although, things like speaker balance and dashboard dimming need adjustment. The one thing that has changed, is now, the estimated miles til empty has gone down significantly. You can see in one pic that I did a 13 mile jaunt and only got 28 mpg when I used to get 45+. When I would fill up, the estimate til empty would be about 500+ miles. Now, it reads as 300 (see pic). One pic shows that I supposedly have only 100 miles till empty with a 1/4 tank left. That used to be at least 150. I bought a code reader for it and it was showing the P0A0A and P1A10 for hybrid HV interlock and Hybrid PCM. Cleared them and reset the battery disconnect cause I occassionally clean out the fan assembly for hybrid cooling and may not have pushed it all the way back in. The codes are gone. No other codes have come up. I've done reading up on this and I definitely do not want to get stranded from losing power.
I'm running this by you folks cause there are no longer any Lincoln dealer in upstate NY and really do not want to go to Ford. Near me a few years back, Lincoln had a dealer with a factory trained tech. But, no more. I like my car. She's been really good to me. Had it since 2018 and no real issues except a few electrical blips, of which, I've already forgotten.
As an aside, I did have new brakes put on in the summer of '24 and can hear the caliper engage/disengage when applying them. Don't know if that would have anything to do with it even though they are for regenerative power.
I'm sure I will be adding things when they come to me.
Happy New Year folks.
Hi bbf2530. You seem to get around.
