My Lincoln
2016 MKC
I got a 2016 MKC that will crank but will not start, I drove it about 200 miles straight with no issues. Then park it for about 10-12hrs and when I went to start it back up it just cranks and does not start. I've tried the basic stuff that you do with no start but I'm at a bit of a loss. Also the temperature was about 30° when it was park and when I went to start it again.

Welcome to the LOG

If you have a code reader, please pull codes and post.

If you don't this will be a little interesting. The thing to do is isolate IF the issue is fuel or ignition. Things you can do:

With gas cap off, turn on ignition key to run. You are listening for the fuel pump to run. That may only last for a few seconds as when the pressure is reached the pump with shut off. Having someone operate key and the other listen for the pump may be better. No sound, not fuel to engine.

If no sound - Check to see if inerta switch has been tripped. This is a safety devise that turns off the fuel pump in a major accident. Tripped inerta switch, no fuel pump operation.

If there is sound from the fuel pump, do check that you are not low or out of gasoline in the tank.

You posted like this is a new to you vehicle. With the ambient temps and unknown service history, it may be possible the fuel filter is restricted. Many cars no longer have a filter that is replaceable. Your owners manual will have a service interval for a fuel filter if it is replaceable. If it is you might consider replacing it.

OR - remove air cleaner and spray a flamable into the throttle body. (Throttle body cleaner would be the best choice.) Starting fluid or gasoline would be other choices. IF the engine fires on a cylinder or two you have a fuel problem. If not fire, you may have an ignition problem but could be fuel as well.

Post back on the above.
