My wipers turned on while driving and ran for about 10 minutes and stopped. Then again a while later. Had to pull the fuse to stop the problem.
Installed new O.E.M. turn signal multi swtch 6 mos ago.
Any ideas???
Thanks, Bob

This thread and posts may help you with your problem: http://lincolnforums.com/forums/thr...d-related-parts-replacement?p=62783#post62783

I was rushed earlier; did you change the multi-function switch because of a similar problem 6 months ago? The LCM (Lighting Control Module) is involved in the wiper circuit to provide lights (when the auto-lamps are on) and the multi function switch is set to wiper functions other than wash/wipe. So the LCM should not be involved in your problem but the documents may note its involvement in the circuits.

The wiper motor and the multi-function switch work on grounding circuits so the most likely problem is the wiper motor grounding some circuits either because it is failing (unlikely in a 2011 model) or there is water in the wiper housing because the large cowl drain is plugged or partially plugged and the water is in contact with the motor. You will need a wiper arm removal tool to remove the arms from the spindles, you will need to put towels around the arms because the arm and wiper will need a lot of pressure to separate and will jump a lot from the spring pressure and may damage the glass or paintwork when arms clear the spindles.

Good luck.
