My Lincoln
2010 MKS
This September, my father got me a 2010 Lincoln MKS to replace my hand-me-down 2012 Hyundai Elantra which had been stolen and was recovered, but at an unsalvageable cost. This was also because I had just finally passed my driver's exam after I believe the 5th or 6th time taking the driving test.

We looked at a couple cars ranging from real shabby ---> almost perfect, for under $4500. In order: 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT coupe (AKA personal current dream car), 2004 Honda Accord, 2006 Honda Accord coupe, 2002 Toyota Avalon XLS (also loved this car despite it having 240K miles), and then the Lincoln, which my father was heads over heels with and bought it for me on the spot when I didn't even have a say. She said the cars we looked at were crap compared to this, but then again she also has a ford F150 Lightning, while I'm not pertained to any particular manufacturer. Young 11 y/o me would've LOVED this Lincoln for the fact it's a glorified Ford Taurus SHO, but I'm not terribly fond with it at the moment. Especially since the point of me getting a replacement car is to learn to wrench on it, but I would've preferred to work on something simpler other than a luxury car?

This is a red MKS with 126K miles on the clock, with the 3.5L V6 (non-ecoboost version) making 300HP. It's also a version without the navigational infotainment trim, so you just have front & rear parking sensors. My father paid $4500 for it, in really good cosmetic condition. Just has...a few issues. Like...:

-Right headlamp not turning off when the car is off or blinks momentarily (not problematic enough to drain the battery, but...)

-AM/FM Radio will not tune or seek, and none of the source functions work when you turn the radio off, nor can you turn it back on (at least in my experience).

-CD Player will not eject some of the CD's, it'll just give us an error message.

-Driver's rear seat cover is not fully secure (side clips are broken) and can fall off at any moment.

Otherwise it drives very nice. My only real gripes with it is that the B-pillar is huge, creating a large blind spot, and the trunk opening isn't even tall enough for me to put my laundry!! Even my Elantra (which is a compact car by comparison) had a bigger trunk opening than this!

Anyway, I'm new to this Lincoln forum website. Just registered a couple dozen minutes ago. Here the MKS Tax.

Congrats on the new ride lil homie. Maybe you should tell your dad since he’s so in love with it he can drive it and you drive his truck 🤣 sorry to hear about the problematic issues. The headlight sounds like a wiring issue. Not too sure about the other things going on. Anywho I just wanted to give you a welcome and congratulate you on your new vehicle. I have a ‘11 MKS with the turbos and I absolutely love it. Best of luck to you lil pimpin!
