I recently replaced my headlights with aftermarket Halogens. They worked fine except now on my dashboard the ABS light, Parking brake light, and Traction light are always on. I swapped out the headlights with another pair of aftermarket Halgogen; same issue. I have original brochure for the car and says I have Halogens. I’ll post a pic of the original headlights just in case.D27CBBDC-4594-4C4F-92BA-2D841E72A128.webp

Hi Rufus and welcome to the Lincoln Forums. The warning light issue is most likely not related to the headlight bulb change. In fact, it is more likely that your battery is failing, since a failing battery can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins, and the timing was a simple coincidence.
I would recommend you follow the advice of V35A and reinstall the original bulbs to see what happens. If you still get the warning lights, have your battery checked.

Concerning what type of bulb your Town Car uses. Halogen and HID bulbs are not easily interchangeable. For example, among other differences, the wiring connectors and plugs are not the same. So if you installed halogen bulbs and they fit/work, your car takes halogen bulbs.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I had that traction control light issue with my car a while back. My mechanic found the problem was something at one of the back wheels – a sensor or something, I don’t recall exactly what. Might get your mechanic to check it out before delving into modules and things.

The parking brake light might be nothing more than a bad switch at the brake itself.

Hi Rufuscash. Okay, so that wasn't clear (at least to me🙃). Therefore, it might help if we have full information upfront. So a few questions:
- Did you replace both headlight housings?
- Why did you replace the headlight housing/housings?
- Did you have halogen headlights before?
- Did you modify the wiring harnesses/connectors etc. at all?
- How soon after you replaced the housing/housings did the warning lights begin?
- Did you have the battery tested before you replaced it?

Get back to us and good luck.

I think I have read that switching from HID to Halogen or vice-versa will require a programming change (forscan) to the LCM. I don't know if that would have an effect on this issue or not.
