Hi folks,

I'm in the process of trying to replace the alternator on my 07 MKZ. How the heck does it come out?! I can't seem to find much help on YouTube or anywhere else. I hear the ac compressor has to come out and the engine cradle has to be dropped? I hope not because thats beyond my skill set. I probably can manage the ac compressor but definitely not the sub frame. I really hate to remove the compressor completely because the system will have to be charged again... very discouraged. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I removed the skid plates, the ac compressor, oil filter, drained the ac system and was able to then remove the alternator. It was a task and a half. I cannot believe ford designed them this way. It took roughly 4 hours start to finish. The car is now putting out 14.5 volts and running great. Fingers 🤞.
