My Lincoln
2007
5.6 Engine is running worse than a tractor.
What are the duel cam motor problems?

The engine is a 5.4l not a 5.6. From the modular engine family. Had several variations.
For model year 2007, the 5.4l was a 3 valve, single overhead cam. SOHC)
This engine had issues with spark plugs especially during removal. The spark plug shell was made in two pieces and during removal the pieces could separate. This design was changed in 10/07/2007. (Basically the 2008 model year. The repairs are addressed in several TSB issued by Ford.

Beyond that problems are mostly due to lack of maintenance.
The engine had two huge chains in front with nylon guides. These can wear excessively if the oil pressure or oil level is low.
The valves are operated with followers on the cam. And there are cam phasers at the end of the cams to vary the timing. This is done with engine oil that is under pressure. However all of these parts are on the top of the engine which is where oil pressure reached last. Low pressure, there will be issues.
