- 2004 Lincoln Town Car Signature
I have been trying to research this issue with my Town Car for a while with no avail. After the car sists for 3-4 hours, upon opening any door, there is a loud buzzing coming from behind the gauge cluster, and exterior lamps stay on dimly. Turn the key on, buzzing continues until the headlamp switch is rotated from off to any other position. This goes on whether the car is running or not. If the switch is left in the off position, the buzzing continues for 20-30 minutes, which presents an issue with battery drain after short drives. Especially now in winter in northern IL. I have read about the LCM issues with buzzing, however with the LCM being located under the dash, it doesn't sound/feel like the LCM is the cause of the buzzing.
Is there some sort of troubleshooting for the light switch? On a different note, I had a similar issue with my Excursion, and I was able to bypass the accessory delay relay located in the gauge cluster. Obviously the Excursion is not wired the same as the Town Car, but has this ever been looked into before? I was not able to find any info on the accessory delay relay, or whether it is located behind the cluster on the Lincoln. Appreciate any help.
