1989 Lincoln Mark VII Blass or LSC?

I recently found this car and purchased it but It seems more a mix between the LSC and the Blass,
I dont know if the car is improperly marked{ie its really a LSC but has Blass interior}
Its got the Dual Exhaust and I cant tell which version of air suspension it has,
The Dash is Digital,
and the Engine is the 5.0 L HO which i know is a Mustang engine,

So forgive me for asking if it seems a stupid question,
But with how the car is it does seem more like the LSC,
But the markings are of a Blass,
And the Vin shows for a 4.0 L Mark VII which I didnt think they made{Type Error?},
Does anyone have helpful information to further figure out which it actually is?

If the car has a digital dash, its a Bill blass automatically. Especially if it has the seats

Welcome to the board!

And no question is stupid... :)

4.0 is the deisle...maybe a 5.0 was installed...though I doubt it could be done and it still look like original.

Yes it has the seats and all the little BB marks, But all of the engine seems to be like the LSC is suppose to be from what I can tell,
Which is why I am still unsure,
The Vin I need to actually check on the engine,
But I havent felt like crawling under the car,
Its funny because though I love lincolns,
I mainly bought it because of the faded purple flames,
I am a sucker for purple flames....

and thanks for the welcome,

The LSC motor looks identical to the Bill blass motor.

I believe in 88 or 89 the LSC and Bill Blass started getting the same engine. The only differences were the exterior trim, interior trim, and the suspension bags.

True-it was 1988 model year. And in 1990 they all got LSC bags.

Purple flames? Hmm...there was someone on here (coffeepot something-or-another) who had a white LSC with what I thought were burgundy flames but could have been purple...same car?

Pics?

Welcome, btw. :)

From info on the Lincoln Mark VII website it said that the Blass didnt have LSC engines untill 90,
But I have known the internet to be wrong before,

And I can get pictures up,
Its black with Red BB stripes and insignia, Grey interior,
But the body is in slightly sorry condition,
Car is like Fair-Poor overall,
Mild-fixible rust, clear coat gone, some body work done, flames somewhat painted over,
The interior is mostly ok but for the front seats which are pretty well slashed,
The car was not maintained well,
I mean bells my oil filter was rusted when I went to change it,
Its a matter of fine crafted vehical that the poor dear has survived,
I was trying to change out the Distrib, Rotor, and Wires when I realized that I might have to go strait OME for the parts because what I can get at like advanced and like autozone isnt right it seems,
My coil wire is like 4 foot long from what I can tell{is this common?},
The ones I saw were like two foot long,
So I am trying now to make sure what I get is what is right,
OME is expensive though and it might have to wait a few weeks,

It seems you\'re getting a mix of wrong information and personal confusion. For whatever reason it seems to be a common misconception that only the LSC has the 5.0H.O...and I could go on and on about the silliness I get when I ask somewhat what they think the difference is. Do a bit of searching here and you\'ll easily find a list of differences.

Your car is a Bill Blass.

I have argued with parts guys before over this. I always stress \"VIN E\", and they still screw it up. Now i just tell em I have an 88 GT and I get the right parts without an arguement.

To clarify I thought only the LSC came with 5.0 HO standard,
Not to say the Blass wouldnt have gotten it,
I am just trying to figure out if some of the more \'racey\' stuff from the LSC standard is in my car,
It seems to be,
And its kinda confusing to be getting parts,
And the information I am getting seems a bit everywhere and lacking,
Or maybe its just that I am blonde today,

Dude. Parts catalogs are wrong on these cars. We all know it. Trust us; we know more about these cars than anybody you could ever talk to at a shop, even the dealer. I only met one parts dude that had awareness of this, and he did in fact work at the dealer.

Remember, always emphasise \"VIN E\".

3.07 (BB) vs. 3.27 (LSC) - gear ratio
15\" (BB) vs. 16\" (LSC) - rims

Yes thats why I am here,
To find out the best way to get the correct parts,
I know slightly more then basic about auto repair,
Its mostly a case of if I have the tools base knowelge and a book I am gold,

Thank you Very much for the VIN E info and the to \'just tell them its a 88 GT\'
That does help a considerable amount,
{know that I am listening and not trying to argue}
desil was only one year. 1984. And it was a 2.4 IIRC
The diesel was also available in 1985.

1990 still had wire wheels and base springs. 1991 was the changeover year.
