Hi,

To pull the door panel off my 1994 Town Car - FRONT L & R - there's 2 screws on the panel side/edge, front and back. 2 screws under the pull strap... And where are the others?

I'm going to need to take the switch plate out because my door lock switch has fallen through. Is there a screw in that somewhere? What about inside the flip-up armrest compartment?

Also, one of my door lock actuators has let go from the door. It's still in the bracket thing, but the rivet that holds THAT to the door is out. If I put a short bolt in the bracket to hold it in place, will it impact shutting the door?

Thanks!

Attached is the procedure to remove and replace the front door panel on your car.

Yes you can replace the rivet holding the actuator with a screw. Here is an extract of the procedure performed on a 2005 Lincoln Town Car from this thread in the Lincoln Tech forum: http://www.lincolnforums.com/forums/threads/10479-Town-Car-door-lock-actuator-replacement but it should be the same as your car:

Rather than replace the pop rivet (holding the actuator to the door) with another pop rivet, in the past I've found it much more effective to super glue a Nylock nut to the inside of the attaching bracket and use a ¾” long 1/4x20 stainless bolt (use a stainless washer behind the bolt head). USE SUPERGLUE (or EQUIVELENT) TO HOLD THE NUT TO THE BRACKET BEFORE YOU START THE INSTALLATION!! Trying to feed the bolt, juggle the actuator, and keep the nut aligned is nearly impossible otherwise. The above method makes the job a snap. Also note - remove the bolt at the bottom of the window channel so you can pivot it out of the way allowing you to see what you are doing. You have to re-engage the actuator arm plus position the bracket correctly to insert and start the bolt – with the channel in place you cannot see much of what you need to see.

Good luck.
