front coil springs

Hello everybody, I have a 98 Town Car and I'm toying with the idea of swapping out the front coil springs for a little softer ones (perhaps from an older model) but I have no idea where to begin I know nothing about Springs or spring rates or rebound rates or anything like that, anybody have any...
