My Lincoln
2015 Navigator
Few questions here guys. Its super clean.. But only one key fob.. Can these be bought online or is it a local fix only?
Anything I can do to my radio to "update" it to a carplay compatible version?
On that note... What are you guys using for phone mounts?
The running boards work fine.. But is wd 40 the best on the moving parts? Id like the hit them with something.
Last question for now.. Drivers door has sort of a pop sound when you open and close it.. Its not coming from the hinges but the center smaller hinge (if that makes sense) I hit it with lube but hell, I think it made it worse lol . Navigator.webp

Based upon my experience with a 2016 Navigator...

If you only have one key fob, I believe your only recourse is to contact a Ford/Lincoln dealer for the 2nd key fob. Once you have 2 working key fobs, you can program additional key fobs, OEM or aftermarket.

Not sure about the 2015, but my 2016 required my iPhone to be connected via a data quality USB/Lightning cord. It would not do CarPlay via bluetooth. There are aftermarket alternatives however.

Phone mount? Easy... Pro Clip USA - been buying from them for years for all my vehicles/phones.

WD40 is fine to 'clean' and free up the running boards, but a good lubricant is better for follow-up maintenance. Lithium spray grease is probably best but like all lubricants, opinions vary. Best approach is to clean/lubricate annually or semi-annually depending on severity of service.

Best of luck with your 2015 Navigator. My 2016 Navigator served me well and I hope my advice helps you.

I had the proclip in my cart when I made this post.. After I read your response, I hit the send button on it... I was under the impression that you could get a 2nd key programmed thru a locksmith but I must have read that wrong... No telling what a dealer wants for one lol

I just had a 2nd key (fob) made for mine... went to a local locksmith and paid $166 including fob out the door.

Hi wpsharpshooter. You can purchase a replacement keyfob online. It will be less expensive than purchasing from the dealership parts department. Be sure to purchase the correct OEM one, not a cheap knockoff.

However, as “driller” stated above: Since you only have one programmed keyfob in your possession, you will need to have the dealership, or a proper automotive locksmith (not always easy to find) program it. If using an automotive locksmith, be sure they are programming it as a new keyfob, not a cloned keyfob. There is a big difference.

Hope this information helps, let us know how you make out and good luck.

Thanks for the info.. Do we have a preferred source to get the fobs from? Also found the source of my door noise.. Door check strap is the culprit.
