2024 Navigator - Quality Control

I'm fairly certain that second row massage is only available on the Black Label - but I could be wrong!

For the second row, it is an option on the reserve trim. That option also comes with the second row console. But I do not have that option.

I do have the option however that has 30 way front seats with massage. And those are the ones that the butt and thigh massage are not working. I talked with Lincoln corp and they said there is a firmware update that I should get. But the dealership doesn’t know anything about it.

This will be three weeks in the shop out of the 5 weeks I have had the car. The dealership service told me yesterday…get this…. The trim pieces that are supposed to be under the roof rack bars, were cut out of the design for the 2024 model for cost cutting. A $4 plastic liner that is supposed to cover the rivets is not included in a $120k car. So now when it rains, more than likely water will go through the small holes around the rivets and soak the inside of the car.

Lincoln has lost their minds….

Can you post pics?

I'm just curious. To be honest, I've never looked at the topside of my Navigator. :rolleyes:

When I get my car back, I will take a photo of the open rivets. You just have to stand on slide out step and look at the roof. Apparently, the 2023 has the trim. The 2024 doesn’t. This is crazy.

The next time I think of it, I'll take a look at my 2024.

Trim or not, I do not have any water intrusion after a year of sitting outside (because it won't fit in the garage).

Without having my car - attached is just a screenshot of another Navigator with my arrows showing where the rubber trim is supposed to go. Without that trim, all you see are open rivets of the two pieces of sheet metal being joined together.

I don't know what the ones with the trim pieces look like, but I did peek under the rails of my 2024 the other day before leaving for a trip...

I presume the trim piece mimics the one in front of the rail?

I'd bet the seam below the front trim piece is identical and the trim piece doesn't appear to be watertight. So evidently the actual seam is both structural and watertight despite the observation of what appears to be rivets?

If you have holes in/around the rivets then maybe you have a legitimate complaint.

Otherwise... much to do about nothing.

Nice photo taking. Yes. That’s the location and clearly, Lincoln did design out the rubber trim. Since the color of your car is light, the rivets are not as pronounced. My car is darker and it is much more visible. And yes. Mine has small holes that water will eventually get into. It isn’t “much to do about nothing though”. For the price of this car, why remove things even if it’s just for show?

I got my car back after three weeks. Most things were not fixed. So now I have to contact Lincoln corporate.

<Rant On>

I hear this all the time... "the price". I agree, the price can be ridiculous but so is every one else's.

I paid "the price" with my 2024 Navigator L purchase. Honestly the first and only purchase of six figures during my lifetime. And at my age that is beginning to mean something! :p

But I did my due diligence and at least had semi-realistic expectations. I wanted a full size 'upscale' SUV to haul and tow with and I had swore off GM and Cadillac decades ago. No, I wasn't considering BMW, Mercedes or any other market. Ford's not perfect, neither is Lincoln, but at least I know the devil I'm dealing with after having decades of experience with both Fords and Lincolns. Some have been better than others but that doesn't mean newer is better nor does it justify any cost factor.

<Rant Off>
