Yesterday, I passed my year ownership milestone and had to the opportunity to celebrate by taking the Nauti hybrid due to the dealer for software updates and a tire rotation. It was been driven over 10,800 miles and although I do not have the data, my mpg has mostly been at least 30 mpg on trips. It is nice to see a 600 miles to empty when tank is full.
As for hardware issues, I had the injectors replaced under CSP and a wind noise issue mostly fixed (supposedly to underbody shield flapping). I have had the noisy brakes (a shrill grinding sound) occasionally. It never has been a "grunt". My MKZ will make a similar sound if the rotors get wet and then dry.
I have not had the battery replaced and give thanks to this forum since I purchased a new battery charger within a relatively short period after all the feedback here. I kept it generally charged until the software updates for battery drain were rolled out. If it sits more then 2 weeks, I will attach a charger.
It has been at the dealer multiple times for all the software updates and I am proactive about it. The software quality has been a disappointment. The latest was when I updated
Android Auto on the phone and took 3 drives to get it starting properly. The biggest issue with AA is that after 24B54, it loads AFTER everything else is up (especially after it has not been driven in 4 or 5 days) so you cannot do much with screen until AA loads. This takes a lot more time than it used to and assume it was system stability to stage software loading.
I have been very pleased with the room including cargo, the clean look of the 48 inch display (less info on screen the batter to me), ride, noise level, and mpg. The Pirelli tires have opened my mind to more than Michelin. The factory Pirelli MS are not available in US in 20 inch size. I would like to have the "excite" ride setting (a little firmer) available in normal and conserve settings.
As for major design issue complaints, the tablet display needs to be positioned higher, better touch sensitivity, and redesigned AC controls to be spaced apart with better contrast. Brightness should be improved. I would prefer hard controls for the AC even if labels for buttons were dynamic. Of course, I have many other gripes. Note to Lincoln: Some of us older folks do not have perfect vision so a little larger icons with better contrast is better. The best example is the dark blue seat cooler bars on the icon. I never hear a beep when I touch them so audible help either.
Before I bought the Nautilus, I spent 80% of the time looking at the Corsair although had driven a used demo 23 Nautilus as possible alternate. But after pricing out features with better mpg with hybrid and cargo room, etc. a 24 Nautilus hybrid seemed to be the better option. I had not really wanted a larger vehicle.
