Lets Discuss Extended Warranty Options

That seems silly by keying off name rather than VIN,
Agreed, that is what I told them as well and the Lincoln Concierge guy agreed but said that is the way they do it. They had misspelled my first name at Lombard Ford when they entered my warranty and when they fixed that it worked.

For grins, I updated the Lincoln Way app to match name on contract! The email addresses matched already.

The unique part of the Lincoln part is the member ID number. It is not the same number I see on Lincoln Finance side.

Well I am shocked as I now see my extended warranty in the My Lincoln App.

I have found that it is usually the name not matching that prevents it from showing in the Lincoln Way App. You have to make sure the name under which the extended warranty is entered into the system matches the name you have used on the account you created for your Lincoln Way App. Mine did not show up under my Lincoln Way App until I contacted Lombard Ford and had them change the name they entered it under in the Ford Oasis system. Once they did that the next day it showed up in the app.
Yes, the finance guy mentioned this when I signed up. Mine does show up in Lincoln Way.

My dealer offered me extended coverage from EG Assurance. Anyone have any experience with them?

Hi Billz. My personal advice would be to avoid third party ESP’s and stick with the LincolnProtect factory plans.

Get price quotes from the 3 top online sellers:
Zeigler Automotive - Save $$ on Genuine Ford Protect and Lincoln Protect Extended Service Plans

Granger Ford - Ford Extended Warranty - Ford Protect

Flood Ford - Ford Protect Sales - Geniune Ford ESP extended warranty

I’m sure others will jump in with more advice and help.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I prefer the Ford ESP Premium plan and I buy mine from Lombard Ford. It is the same thing that your Lincoln dealer offers but at a much more reasonable price. When I bought my 2024 Nautilus the dealer wanted $4800 for the full ESP package with all the bells and whistles and $100 deductible. I was able to get the Premium Ford ESP plan from Lombard Ford for $1600 including the lighting and replacement fob options. I bought the 100K mile $200 deductible version which most dealers won’t even tell you exists. These show up in the Oasis system just like if you bought it from your selling dealer. They are the same and I have never had an issue getting any Ford or Lincoln dealer to accept it.

There are other dealers that sell online as well.

Hope that helps some.
Curious, how long is the coverage period for what you purchased? I am seeing an online quote from Lombard for 6 years and 100,000 miles for $2,000. This seems high for only 2 more years of coverage after the original Ford warranty.

If you get fob protection that is immediate but everything on the Nauti is expensive. If you search Ford parts, most every computer module is $$$$. It is a first year too.

Hi Billz. Generally speaking, the plan mileage limit chosen affects ESP pricing more than the number of years. And also generally speaking, Zeigler, Granger and Flood seem to offer the best pricing, although there can always be exceptions.

Therefore, work up prices from Zeigler, Granger, Flood, Lombard etc. Also from your Dealership and other Lincoln/Ford Dealerships in your area.
And you can find more online sellers by Googling ”Lincoln ESP plan sellers”.
You can work up price estimates until you’re satisfied you got the best plan and price for yourself.

Just be sure to work up apples to apples comparisons, since there are several plans levels, various time/mileage coverages, optional coverages, deductibles etc.

However, the Lincoln factory ESP is a better choice than third party ESP’s.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

FYI. online quotes today (October 29th) from Ziegler is $3,045 and Ford is $3,232 and Granger is $2,700. All 3 are for Premium coverage 10 years, 100,000 miles with a $100 deductible. Note my dealer quoted me $2,750 for the same coverage from EG Assurance. This is for a 2024 Nautilus purchased in July.

Thinking it over

Hi Billz. The final decision is up to you of course.

However, I would make these recommendations:
Do not take the word of a Dealer Salesperson/Finance Manager about coverage being “the same”.
Third party ESP’s can be problematic for various reasons. So if you are seriously thinking about going third party, be sure to sit down and carefully compare the contracts line by line to ensure all coverages are “the same”.

Also, check to be sure where that “EG Assurance” ESP contract is accepted. All Lincoln/Ford Dealers accept LincolnProtect ESP plans. However, not all Lincoln/Ford Dealers will necessarily accept third party ESP’s with no questions. You may find out you have no coverage at the worst possible time (away from home, vacationing etc.).
And/or discover that you may need to first pay out of pocket for a large repair bill, until the Dealership receives payment, or you are reimbursed by EG Assurance.

On the other hand…If you do the research and are happy with EG Assurance, then that’s all that matters.

Let us know how you make out and good luck. 🍻

bbf is spot on...my Lincoln Dealer Finance Manager tried to convince me 3rd. party was the way to go when I originally rolled a 10/100k ext. warranty into the deal.
Be careful! Individual Lincoln dealers vary on the 3rd party insurers they opt to do business with. Of course, the plan they sell you they accept...but will another dealer you happen upon in your travels accept it also?
I insisted on Lincoln Protect. He gave me a quote & wrote in the numbers in the deal, never showing me the options within the plan! He never even gave me the plan brochure listing the options and costs! I had him remove it all and take it off the papers. Was my FOB covered? Lighting? These are optional.
Additionally, they offered at the time 0% finance on a Lincoln ESP, (maybe they still do)?
The slime ball finance manager rolled it into the 1.9% Lincoln finance rate. Probably just being a lazy bastard. Glad I caught this all before signing!

You got 1.9%? They gave me 2.9%! 😠

My finance guy had hard time hiding every dealer add on because it significantly raised the loan payment. I had 36 mo loan but a lot down so I knew base payment. The payment t when up 50%.

What irked me it was dumped on all so quick and wanted to get out of there. Some sign to escape but I refused to even discuss.
I did the warranty later from Fleet.

I ended up with Ford Premium Care for 72 months and 100k miles. I can't find any reference to this in the Lincoln Way app nor the My Lincoln web page in my garage. I did have an issue with my name in the dealers system and this was resolved. Any advice on how I see the extended warranty show up?

thanks

Mine disappeared after an app update. I had a similar naming mismatch to get it to show
