MY2023 Aviator Order Timeline Tracking thread

Try this app, it was showing everything but now it stopped.

Hey that link was helpful. The Lincoln site shows no update for order and shows no window sticker. Your link gave me the window sticker and says no shipping information yet. So looks like I have been built and pending shipping?

The app was decommissioned a bit ago I guess, all I could get was the modules and window sticker...my Lincoln tracker doesn't have the window sticker link that works properly either. So between all the links I've found online I've been able to piece information together. Lol.

Hi hamster. The window sticker is available before the production date, so having it available now does not necessarily mean the vehicle has been built. I'm not saying it was not built, only that window sticker availability is not a foolproof method of determining production.

In the "good old days" before Covid shortages and delays, the window sticker was generally available anywhere from ~10 days to a few days before production. However, that is not always necessarily the case anymore.

So all we can do is count on the website updates, or check with our Dealerships for updates.

Keep us updated and good luck.

It says:

Please check back later. The window sticker has not yet been released for this vehicle.
That could be because it has been shipped. Windows stickers disappear after a certain time and then you get the message you received.

So assuming the vehicle arrives later this month. How would you guys negotiate the price of a car that sat in Chicago for ~8 months. The MSRP of our configuration is $68,000 and they have already mentioned rebates to $65,000. We have a trade to consider as well. What number would you be trying to hit?

We were lucky to find in stock in South FLA, a Jet Package AWD 23' with the Sandstone interior and trailer tow that we acquired in late March 23'. It was located in Pompano, 110 miles from our residence in Naples. I negotiated over the phone, the X Plan discount we had ($3,900+), plus the $1,500. Ford incentive from having owned a 2020 Explorer. They gave me $9,500. more than the price I paid when buying out my Explorer ST lease. Also, this vehicle had been built a week before the price increase of $700. ($500. model and $200. shipping increase as of March 1, 2023) so we considered that as a further discount off the window sticker of $72,500. We leased the past 2 Explorers, but purchased the Aviator, as we drive fewer business miles than in the past.

It is now subject to the camera recall, but haven't had any issues yet. Did see the "Blue Screen" 2 times on our 2020 Explorer, but it was near the end of our ownership, and both times were almost a month apart. Turning off and re-starting solved each issue. One doesn't realize how important having a backup camera is, until it craps out when parking!!

All these shipping holds due to backup camera issues has to be causing Lincoln and Ford dealers real headaches. Frankly, at some point, I would have probably either kept my Explorer, or found another SUV that was in stock. My guess is that Ford was hoping that a software update or a relatively simple hardware fix could be found. Taking almost a year to resolve this is unacceptable in today's marketplace.

Anybody with order in March2023 gotten their car yet ?

Has anyone had their production date start on Nov 6 but take until Nov 18 to finish the build? It didn't have the recall (built post recall issue) and I don't think there were any items that should have taken extra time, especially since everything was stockpiled while the Chicago plant was on strike?

Order date: July 18, 2023 (in midst of recall, ordered vs wait for one in stock due to features I wanted)
1st Window Sticker: mid-September
Blend Date: Sept 29, 2023 (the day the Chicago plant went on strike)
New Window Sticker: Oct 28, all different numbers, invoice date, and is now classified as a re-bill - but the blend date stayed the same (first day Chicago was back at work following the strike)
Production Start: Nov 6, 2023
Built Date: Nov 18, 2023

Ordered with the following:
  • Equipment group 201A
  • Jet pkg
  • Tow pkg
  • Illumination pkg
  • Full rear console
  • Hands-free liftgate delete
  • Roast interior/black exterior
Also, does anyone know the current wait time to ship to Calgary area in Alberta, Canada? And current shipping time once it's shipped? Ironically we're heading East in what I think will be the same time it's arriving here.

Hi kshelm. Unfortunately, for various reasons, the vehicle tracking site is not yet a precise instrument.
If you have the necessary information, you may be able to get more up-to-date information from your Dealership (if they are competent) and/or Lincoln Concierge (again, if you get a competent representative).

And the question about parts stockpiling is far more complicated than thinking that "everything was stockpiled" during the strike. First, parts are not "stockpiled" at plants the way they were in the *old days*. Nearly all aspects of vehicle manufacturing are performed with JIT "Just In Time" manufacturing/parts supplying. In addition, many/most parts suppliers honored the strike/picket lines and did not supply/ship parts during the strike.

I realize this is not very comforting for those waiting patiently (or not so patiently🙃). So in the end, what does all that mean? Unfortunately, the usual result...that all we can do is check with our Dealerships and Lincoln Concierge for updated information, and hope they are competent and supply the information.

And for those not familiar with JIT manufacturing, here is a link which may help: Just in Time manufacturing - Google Search

Keep us updated and good luck.

I don't know if this will help, but mine was 'Shipped' on Sept. 12th and arrived at the dealership on Sept. 29th. It went from Chicago to Montreal where it was loaded onto a car carrier. The dealership is in Casselman which is outside of Ottawa and about 1.5 hours from Montreal. So it was in transit for 18 days.

After almost 8 months from order two of mine showed up yesterday.
One has 81 miles on it with the typical sticker ‘your vehicle was selected for further evaluation’. I see these often but the vehicles usually have 20-30 miles on them not 81. Clients are just glad to have them.

Nice! Where is your dealership located?

Hi All, Just curious if everyone is happy with their purchase?

We are very happy with our 23' Aviator. Have over 18,000 trouble free miles after the fiasco at the beginning where the amplifier for the sound system was defective from the factory and the selling dealer never checked it.

I would say it is "fine" for us. This is actually our third Aviator. The first one we did quick dealer exchange in Oct 2020 due to the "perfect position seats" being not comfortable for us. Second one was a buy back/lemon law from Ford/Lincoln due to the plethora of issues with the vehicle which was bought back/returned in Nov 2022. We then bought our current Aviator in Nov 2022 and have a recall scheduled for the navigation screen for cell phone interference to be fixed next month.

While we do like the style and comfort of the vehicle, there are fit and finish issues, squeaks, odd sound when using Auto Hold, abruptly stopping the vehicle when backing out when nothing is behind it... No major issues, but still not the quality we were hoping for. Being that costs keep going up at a rapid pace and interest rates being what they are, we will keep with this vehicle at least until the extended warranty (compliments of Ford/Lincoln) runs out. We have about 35k miles on ours right now.

Hi All, Just curious if everyone is happy with their purchase?
I'venhas the 2020 and 2023 Aviators and now have the 2025 Aviator Reserve II. Happy with all of them although I'd be happier with the 2025 if they could fix/enable the Embrace lighting feature.

Peter, this is so funny to me that after all that waiting we all did for our 2023, you are already onto the 2025. That is fantastic. Is it any different than the 2023? I heard there may be big changes made to the 2026 model. Thanks for the response! My 2023 Reserve has about 15 k miles on it. I am happy so far, aside from a few minor annoyances.
