My Lincoln
2025 Aviator
Picked up my 2025 Aviator 10/25/24 and by 11/11/24 it was in for a week for a shaking steering wheel at 65MPH+, the approach lights are not working and the A pillar has a fabric defect.

We wanted Pirelli tires but couldn’t order them as part of our build. Was told 2024 had them so the salesman thought the 2025 Aviator would come with them, but they did not. A bit over two weeks and a sound deadening foam in the Goodyear tire came loose and bunched up and caused wicked vibration at higher speeds. They warranty replaced with the same tire despite our repeated protest. I’ve had my vehicle back a day and felt a slight vibration on the wheel a day later. We are about to lose our sanity with their lack of care for what we want.

We had the toggle switched for the approach lights on and it’s just sad the customer knows what lights should do what as you approach, but the service manager does not. I’m waiting to hear back that I’m right and they’ll have me bring it in. They tried telling us we didn’t have the settings right, but we did! They claim it’s working but there’s zero lights going on as I approach, liars. I’m being told that only the front emblem and mirrors light up and that’s NOT true!

A pillar has a fabric discrepancy and they’ll replace that under warranty. Overall, not the best first time new car buying experience. Not looking forward to not having my car again so they can figure things out.

My passenger-side mirror moves out of adjustment when the vehicle is unlocked. It does this whether you use the fob, door handle or the Securicode to unlock it.
I'm taking it in this afternoon to check it out and have a diagnostic done on the non-functioning Approach Lighting (aka Embrace).

Peter.

Do please update in that lighting issue that so many seem to be having.

I've never heard of putting material inside a tire? Describe that a bit more? Wtf?
I know! We thought it was the dumbest thing but the dealership told us it had sound deadening form in the Goodyear tires and it came away from the tire and felt like a tire lost a weight as my voice was coming out like I was speaking into a fan. Ridiculous.

For any of you that have the 20" Michelins, or 21" Pirelli's, I have a set of 22" Black "Jet Package: OEM Wheels and tires for sale, so you too can engoy the finer aspects of the Goodyear Eagle Comfort tires!!!!!

Tire brand options are not part of the build process. THey never have been as far as I know. I don't know which tire brand were on my 2025 since it was brought in from another dealer by my dealership. As part of the agreement, my dealership ordered the Toyo Observe winter tires I selected (limited selection on 22") and paid for them and the installation ($2600), so I never saw the vehicle until the tire change was done. They put the tires into storage. I did check a 2025 Aviator Reserve in the showroom and it had Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires.

I believe that the 21" wheels and tires that come on the 25' Aviator are the Pirelli's as Ford has used them on 21" wheel packages on the Explorers that had the optional 21" wheels and the Aviators (PHEV models) that came with 21" wheels. I believer that the 22" Aviator wheels have always come with the Goodyear Eagle Comfort tires. However, I'm not sure if those tires have always had noise cancelling foam in them.

Our daughter has a 2024 Acura MDX that wandered due to the tires. The dealer agreed and even pointed out that the 24 loaner MDX also did the same thing. Acura refused to replace the tires claiming it wasn't a serious problem. Finally my son-in-law went ahead an bought new tires. TireRack told him to either purchase Michelin's or Pirelli's as both have very favorable reviews from customers. Since the Pirelli's had a rebate offer and were somewhat cheaper, he purchased them. All of his handling issue were immediately resolved, plus they ride better. Manufacturers spec tires for specific reasons, such as noise issues etc, which might not be a customer's priorities. I'm sure cost is also a factor.

Just received a call from the dealer service department about a couple of updates that the engineers want to perform on my Aviator. I believe one is to address the battery state of charge and not sure about the other one. Going back in next Thursday (28th) to have the work done.

Ok, I just reached out to my service manager about the Lincoln embrace not working and to confirm if it’s a software update we’re waiting on or if they can fix it. I toggled the feature on their the center tablet but I saw a video on Lincoln Support that shows you can enable welcome lighting through the steering wheel. I’m going to see if that’s an option on the ‘25 Aviator.

This came up in another post recently. I too was rather surprised. I checked with my bud in the business, sure enough on select higher-end vehicle tires this is now the Band-Aid (my denigration) that apparently the NVH engineers are using to dampen out some of the vibration when they spec out an OEM tire. Fortunately for me the OEM replacement Michelin tires for my car that will get installed sooner than later, they do not have such foam in them. They are on a shelf at my bud's shop so easy to check.

Our son recently took a job as a Lincoln service advisor, and he said the voltage and state of charge is available only to them on their software, not the vehicle owner. Seems like something that could be added to the app status along with tire pressure and oil change status. Who on the forum has some pull with "corporate"?

there is a known issue on the 2025 welcome lights with no fix at present. 2025 aviators built from july to October have the issue. The engineers are working on a fix and they said should have fix by first quarter of 2025

Thanks for the build date info. I was aware of the supposed 1st quarter fix and posted it in this thread; 2025 Aviator How to Activate "Embrace" Entry?
