MY2023 Aviator Order Timeline Tracking thread

I’m going w the 2023 Volvo XC90 Hybrid
Ultimate. It drives amazingly well and it has a third row which I want. Along w all the bells and whistles. My BLGT car is going to Lincoln in Alexandria VA. Nope - I’m not willing to wait until April or May. That’s a nonstarter for me. I’m over it.
I wish you luck, but we are moving in opposite directions. I’m coming out of my 2nd XC90 and moving to the Aviator. I am in the middle of a 3 day, 20 hr road trip with my daughter in my XC90R and I can’t wait to get rid of this piece of crap. Honestly, the only reason I haven’t dumped it sooner is it’s a lease. I’ve had MAJOR issues with both of them (hence the 2nd). Air Suspension completely replaced, the rear axle…REAR AXLE! completely replaced, warped rotors and the electrical system gremlins have been never ending. The whole system will crash, rebooting the whole car at highway speeds! It happened twice yesterday. Worst still, is every little function you have to go through the head unit and swipe left, right, touch, touch for simple things. Oh, and the seats are so uncomfortable on long trips. Bye Felicia. Gratefully as posted above ^^^^^ I found out my Reserve gets built late Februar.

just received an email from Lincoln bringing the production date of my GT in a week, now week of March 6.

Just wanted to throw my timeline in the mix.

11-29-2022: We placed our order for a GT in Flight Blue, Grand Touring 1, Luxury Package, Illumination Package, Tow Package, Sandstone Interior, 2nd row Bench Seat, & 1st, 2nd, & 3rd row All-Weather Floor mats. Our Priority Code was 19. We got the order confirmation email the same day.
1-12-2023: We received the email that our vehicle production process is scheduled to begin around March 13th.
1-17-2023: We received another email stating our vehicle production process is now scheduled to begin around March 6th.
Our Salesman said we’d get delivery maybe June or July when we placed the order, so we’ll see. We weren’t in any rush though. We wanted to make sure we’d qualify for any special finance promotions when the vehicle arrived. I think they are doing 72 mths @ 6.9% atm. If you guys thought this vehicle has been taking long. My wife just put in an order for the Cadillac Lyriq and they said it could be 2 yrs before her vehicle is ready.

Yeah, I have pre-orders in for a Cadillac Lyriq and Rivian R1S... been waiting for over a year on the Rivian with no end in sight, and 7 months now on the Lyriq with no end in sight. I will likely cancel both of them shortly after receiving the Lincoln if we are happy with it.

Well the Lyriq is unique, so no surprise the wait is so long. My C8 took 13 months from order to delivery. I'm on a waitlist for a C8 Z06, and don't expect delivery until 2025 or 2026 from a top 5 volume dealer. That will be 4 years...

The order got moved up to the week of the 6th. Looking promising!

Wow. Now that I finally have a "production week" of February 6th, I have a few more questions:
- What is a "Blend Date"?
- Why does it take a month to ship after the Blend Date?
- I'm assuming you were a ways away for it to take 11 days for shipping. I'm in the Chicago area so maybe it will only take 10 days instead of 11.

Blend date has been discussed here several times.
"A blend date is the anticipated date for final assembly... or when the vehicle gets "blended" together. It is located on the top of the window sticker, which is generated roughly a week (give or take a few days) before your scheduled build week."
It can take up to a month to ship because as mentioned above, it takes another week to complete the actual build. Then some vehicles undergo test driving and they also have to get in line to be shipped when railcars become available. In your case, it will likely go via a car carrier to the dealer. But, as has also been reported, there is a shortage of truck drivers in general.

I'm sure the car carrier union drivers wouldn't be opposed to me just picking it up myself!

GT ordered in July, arrived this week with scratched/damage to front bumper! Not fault of dealer by all accounts and they are ordering parts to repair and repaint. So say we are disappoint is an understatement.

That’s a big bummer. Hopefully it doesn’t take them too long to get that repaired.

Repair and repaint? Heck no. How about refund and forget it!

The way I interpreted it, the dealer is ordering a new front bumper/fascia, painting it, then replacing it.
