HI. Has anyone had and found solution for XM Radio Traffic info not coming through even though XM agrees that we have paid for the feature, and told me the next step is to take the car to dealer. They suggested it might be a problem with software since every other paid for item works. Thanks

Hi gbMSU. Yes, make a service appointment and let the Dealership diagnose the issue. If Sirius states you should be getting XM Traffic service and you are not, then that is your recourse.

When you bring your vehicle in, demonstrate to the Service Advisor that your vehicle is not receiving XM Traffic.

Keep us updated and good luck.

We had the same problem on a 2021 Aviator. The dealer repair order referenced TSB 21-2263. Problem was fixed with a software update.

UPDATE.. well they have had the car for more than a week, but we have a MKX loaner, which is fine. The original Service Writer told me that he had never seen the problem in six years of working there, but he said they talked to Lincoln techs in Detriot as well as Sirrus XM people. They were told to change a number of parts. When I called back a few days later, I was told those changes fixed the problem, but he was still waiting on a final part as of last Tuesday. When I called this past Monday, I was told he had left the dealership, so I spoke to someone new, who advised the problem with XM Travel Link was not fixed and they were advised by Lincoln to replace the radio, which is on order. Will keep you all updated but the original guy said 'nobody uses Sirrus XM Travel Link" at least not in his experience. Oh well.. at least the snow is gone here in Michigan!

I loved "Travel Link" I had that in other cars (Mopars) even after the radio subscription ended.
And while I should have some SiriusXM subscription on this Aviator, I basically refused the trial/sample version. I like the service, but no way I am going through the hell that it took to cancel it on my old cars when I switched to full time WFH (work from home) and no longer spend time in a car daily.

Pioneer4X4 . . . . .canceling should be easy. If Sirius wants to jerk you around and “beg” you to stick around, just call the credit card company and put a halt to the payment. They’ll cut you off rather quickly if they aren’t getting paid!

After lockdown, I called to cancel. I used to do the dance, call to "cancel" every few months for a deal, and take it for like $6 a month or whatever. But then I REALLY wanted to cancel. At first they said, something like "we'll give you 3 more months All Access, for FREE if you stick around" PLUS I got a couple bucks back for the time left on my previous agreement. SO they paid me, to take it for free! Then when that ended, again I called to cancel, so they wouldn't start billing, they again offered 3 more months for free. I really had no use for it, so insisted on cancelling. I was on the phone for like 45 minutes after maybe an hour or so of online chat, and getting nowhere. I finally filed a BBB complaint, and 2 days later got it cancelled. It was nuts, they were like a cult!
And I honestly liked it, and had it for many many years on different cars. But yeah, not going down that road again unless I get a trial, and don't have to give a CC for future enrollment.

You can (could, haven't checked since I bailed) do everything (add/extend/swap cars...) online BUT cancel. You need to cancel over the phone. It is a damn cult!

Still easy. If you really want to cancel, say it once. When they don’t listen, you ask to speak to a manager. Works for me. I’m not one for playing that, oh wait, I found you a better price/option dance. If you really want it over, then it is over!

Believe me, I did, for 45 minutes, you can't make them listen. I just checked it was 12/20/2020 when I filed the complaint. It was nuts. I was a customer of theirs since 2008 before the merger. For a while I had it in my car, and my wife's. 2020 the year that was nuts

I've not tried to end a subscription but my accounts are managed, including billing, through an online Sirius account, so I'm confident ending should not be an issue. Kill billing then Challenge charge with CC company of get additional charges.

In 14 years I've never had a billing priblem with Sirius.

You get the same song and dance with cellphone service, DIRECTV, or any cable company. If you want out, it should be relatively easy. Especially if you have fulfilled contract terms and are not breaking the contract.

I totally agree, it "should not be an issue". It was mind blowing what they put me through though.
Just for kicks, see if you can "kill billing" online without a phone call, maybe they changed. The only option they used to have was to enter a new card (first) then switch to it.
I never had a billing problem with them either, just couldn't actually cancel. They couldn't believe I wouldn't take another totally free 3 months of everything.

update. Finally got the problem with XM Travel Link resolved!!... After Ford changed the radio and other hardware, Sirrus finally had someone figure out that what needed to be done was to cancel the service "Traffic" then reinstall and 'poof' it worked!.. Software or employee knowledge was the issue, but in all fairness, the number of car models they deal with causes some confusion as I was able to compare how they approached the issue , as I have a 2018 Genesis G90 5.0 Ultimate , with the same exact Sirrus package. The screens and their content were both different and they also had to figure out there was a difference between "Traffic" and "Travel Link".. but when all said and done , it was NOT the car's hardware , at least in this case.

I had a huge problem with the Infotainment/Traffic activation. The dealer didn't activate the radio. The Sirius Rep. who did, didn't do it properly so there was only a 3 month subscription. It took me 3 months to get it corrected. I had to escalate the problem to the highest level and then there were weeks and many phone calls involved.

Yep. There could be either a traing issue or lack of a good equipment database. Glad we got them fixed!
