On start-up usually cold, strong smell of fuel. Just went out with the wife and watched the rails as she turned the switch to ON, but did not turn it to start.
As soon as fuel pump activated the smell occurred. By checking the fuel rails closely, I saw a leak at a weld above #2 injector. Told the wife it was probably 300 bucks in parts. I'll price fuel rails/injectors and see.

It will be solved......I just got the whole upper and lower intake, fuel rail setup off a 2006 LS for 150 shipped. I will rebuild the fuel rail on THAT one.

Just doing one side with the same injectors and new Fel-Pro O-rings. The culprit was the non-replaceable buffer pot(I know they have another name,LOL) that is hanging down from fuel rail. I made a tool to remove it and got a non-leaker off the used fuel rail I bought. Tested it and NO LEAKS!
Tomorrow I assemble this mess.HA!

Well, it's a rare problem, since the O-rings hold okay, but after 14 or 15 yrs., this can occur. Just keep yer sniffer sniffin'! LOL!
